B&W AWS 1000 ACTIVE SUB. Green power light is on but no sound! Any ideas is a component is gone on the back panel?

When I power this sub the green power light comes on the rear but no sound. Does anyone know if a component is gone on the rear panel? I cannot think of anything else that could be wrong.

Something is wrong with its audio output stage circuit, or the speaker. It is difficult to explain what it may be. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Moved the system to another room and now no sound comes out of teh speakers. home electronics guys think the base unit is out...seems unlikely as it worked when they disconnected it.

Sounds like you simply have no connecton between the sub module and the head. Try checking that it is pluggen in well on both ends. There is an indicator light on the back of the sub where the data plug is which indicates that it is receiving information (or not) form the head unit. The light should be green. If you do not have a green light, try unplugging both the head and the sub for 30 seconds and then power them on again. That reset will often re establish the communication.

Need instalation instructions

Usually the speaker setup is easy, connecting with the manual all the respective cables, and the black , green, orange, to the back out to the Sound card. if you have of course I presume a 5.1 sound card. if not, just use the green cable to the green on the sound card, and black according.
you have to connect the SUB alone and send the green and black signals to the port on the sound card.
good luck
