Question edited for correct spelling of Yaesu and correct forming of model number.

There is a service manual here, but you would be better to take to a service centre unless you are very skilled with electronics. It has a Lithium backup battery, and I think I would change that at the outset.

How do i tune Mazda Demio (2004 model) radio to Southern African frequencies?

fm frequencies are just that fm frequencies ( not japanese, chinese ,english or anything else
it is a range of frequencies in the fm band that local stations broadcast on
so all you have to do is to turn the tuner knob until you get 107 fm
so as you turn the knob you will loose 89 and it will go probably 90.5 , 100.20, 102.7 etc and if there is a station broadcasting that your radio will pick up it will come in and then fade out as you keep moving the knob
you may have to change the mode as there are fm 1 ,fm 2,fm 3 bands to get your fm 107 as it will depend on what megahertz 107 is operating on

I have an Eton G3 recently purchased which has an operators manual, but does not contain any references to the layout of the buttons etc. I would like a link to find out the correct use of the radio

The buttons are marked and the use of most of them is self-evident.
The number keys are used to enter frequencies (direct tuning).
Lock locks the radio and prevent changes (trurning ON or OFF, changing frequency, any function change is blocked)
Sleep sets a timer.
+, - go up or down in frequency, or when you are setting time.
U/LSB is for toggling Upper or Lower Side Bands.
Auto Up and Auto Down are for the automatic tuning system (scanning the frequency spectrum)
AM is for switching to the AM (medium wave band)
AM/Meter band is for switching to the Short wave bands, and FM is for Frequency modulation band.
VOL + and - increase and decrease volume levels

Page/time: It has 700 memory locations to store frequencies. These are organized in pages (maybe up to 100 pages). You jump to next page with that button. Used also when setting time . Please read the instructions.

F1 to F7 are used to select the day for the alarm. F1 for Day 1, Sunday, F2 for Monday, etc) You can set an alarm for each day of the week.
Reset to reset configuration
TZ/Line in TZ set time zone, Line In if you wan to use the speaker of the radio as the output device for a signal from some other radio, or MP3 player
The tuning knob may also be used to change the displayed value while setting time (I can't remember exactly. You have the manual)
Erase erasing a stored frequency or a page (Check that)
Copy see above.

Yaesu ft 101

Sounds like the 20m mixed frequency is slightly off tune in the front end and doesn't match the tuning knob setting. This likely needs a bit of tweaking of an oscillator to put it on the straight and narrow of the IF system.

Like if i open it up and how do i get it to go to higher freq do i turn on those flat screw driver holes or wht are those for

Like what equipment are we talking about? Don't go arbitrarily fiddling with internal adjustments.

What do you mean by Higher Frequency - audio or radio? Radios can be tuned for higher radio frequencies - they have knobs for that; Receivers can't be tuned for higher audio frequencies, but some have treble controls (again, knobs).

You can replace your audio and receive transistors with a new one or a compatible one and be back on the road again. the transistors are available from all ham dealers and are normally not too expensive.
do not try to fix something that ain't broke. if it is working, leave it.

Tube radio tuning thread slipping

The dial cord may will likely need replacement, good luck finding anyone who can do it. There are some chemicals ("non-slip" from GC) that might be applied to the cord at the dial or at the tuning capacitor, but I would recommend that this be done by a tech.

Kenwood R-600 amateur radio receiver tuning problem

If its like the older yeasu's, they had a black and white veined disc on the back with opto electronics, dust used to get in and obscure the sensors...
Worth a look.
