Re: JVC MXC5 compact stereo. How can I retrieve a stuck...
You will have to disassemble the player part of the unit to remove the stuck CD. Once the CD has been removed, you will have to examine the player to determine whether it can be used again.

is a fatal error (these radio is micropocesor controled), needs to go to jvc repair center, they are only one who have necessary software tools to power on again.
First you need to get a wire harness for the Chevy (check Ebay) then follow the wiring instruction inside the package on how to join the spliced wires togother. After joining the wires togother plug the harness in and stuck the JVC into the recess where the old stereo was and thats it, it should play if not you don`t have a good ground, ground the body to the frame.
Hi there! I have one of these units and there appear to be 2 LOCKS on it.
The first is a general LOCK probably to prevent people from fiddling with the controls while on display on the shopfloor. This lock is activated and removed by pressing the STOP key on the remote and on the front of the unit at the same time for 5-10 seconds.
The second lock is a CD player lock which comes on automatically (I think) when the unit is moved to prevent damage to the laser inside. Does anyone know how to remove this lock? It has been on for about 3 days now and it is not explained in the user manual. My CD is stuck inside and I cannot listen to anything else but the CD which is inside the unit!
It wasn't a car cd player, but a component for a stereo. I took off the case and shook the player until the disc dropped out. We plan to replace the player, so no further help is needed. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
