Why won't the reservoir on our Bunn My Cafe MCR (44600.0000) fit into the machine anymore?
Our office has a Bunn My Cafe MCR (44600.0000). The top water reservoir will no longer fit onto the top of the machine. I am unable to find a diagram of it to see of we are missing a seal or something along that line. Please help!
I called Bunn commercial support and they could not help me. The reservoir should just sit on the the top of the machine, but for some reason the area where the check valve is will no longer fit down where it is supposed to. Nothing is missing, broken, or cracked. It is so strange. Any ideas?I called Bunn commercial support and they could not help me. On the schematic on the bottom right, there appears to be a pin on the back of the machine. It looks like a locking pin that is inserted after you put the reservoir on top.. I find it dishonorable that the company that makes it won't help. https://commercial.bunn.com/44600.0000
Here is the manual which I just read and it says it just lifts off. It is very odd. I would need the machine to play with to find the reason. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/759762...
I would send it back and claim on the warranty.

I have the identical problem, and I noticed it this morning after there were 2 very brief (seconds) power outages the previous night. Reading around the internet I read that the fuses inside the unit are the likely culprit, and need to be replaced. You can buy fuses made by others, for this unit. But not from Bunn. And there are video instructions around that show how to do it. The fuses are crimped on, not soldered. Mind you, I haven't tried to do this, yet, but that's what I read. Good luck!
The leak is most likely between the water reservoir and the tank. Bunn uses a soft silicone seal for that connection that gets compressed over time and starts to leak water whenever you make a pot of coffee.
It's planned obsolescence. Bunn won't sell you a new seal. So you have to improvise. But it's simple enough to do.
Remove the top cover and the plastic water reservoir right below it. Don't tamper with the little valve that opens when you close the lid.
Look for the seal. It could be stuck to the bottom of the reservoir, or sitting loosely on top of the metal tank. Make sure to preserve its top-to-bottom orientation (don't put it back in upside down).
Apply a narrow bead of clear silicone into the grooved side of the seal. Press the seal gently onto the reservoir, then apply a thin layer to the smooth side.
