Hi I recently ordered a t con board part after changing out the mainboard on my led roku tv but screen is still showing up black and with red lines can you advise on what to do next?

I put the old Tcon board back in and I'm actually getting more from that than this new part. I'm wondering if the Tcon board just doesn't work with my TV? Ordered it from shop jimmy and they saisd it was the match up for my model. With the old one in I'm getting audio, backlight and could see some of the screen with the new board in everything is black and the red lines are running down the screen.

You can't match parts by TV model number as several different boards are used in the same model set and in most cases they look identical but will not work. You need to order by part number only not model, a lot of times the stamped number on the board won't work either as there are different versions of the same board, use the paper sticker numbers on your old board. If you would have ordered the part on ebay I'd say you may have got a bad board but with shopjimmy this happens very seldom. Assuming it's your tcon that is actually bad you either have the wrong part number or you got a bad board if the replacement one seems to work worse. There are only 4 things that will cause your issue, most common is tcon board, or ribbon connectors, remove the ribbon connectors and gently clean the contacts with a pencil eraser then wipe them down with rubbing alcohol, also check from broken or bent pins, remove the LVDS cable(s) that go from the main to the tcon board and clean them as well, check for bent or broken pinns, it's seldom a main will cause your issue, the other thing is an issue with the panel boards or wheat chips in the sub ribbons and those are part of the panel assembly and not replaceable .There is a way to test your panel and see if it has issues but rule out the other possibilities first.

Testimonial: "Hi thanks I actually did give them the part number on the board that's why they suggested that one was my match and it came with the label was tested, cleaned and passed inspection. I've sent a message asking if the part itself is actually correct waiting on a response but in the meantime will try the things you suggested and if it doesn't work will have to take it to a repair man I guess. Thanks a lot!"

If your original boards works better than the one you received and it's the correct board there has to be something wrong with the board you received. It would be extremely rate to get a defective board from shopjimmy as they do test much better than anywhere else I've found, one other thing, when handling the board you want to take static precautions and if possible use grounding straps as they can be damaged quite easily by static

LED TV has sound but no picture, backlights are on, replaced T-con. It is the panel dead or could it be the main board?

Hi Pat, I'd test F1 on the tcon board to see if it's blown, if it tests ok try a main board, only way to know for sure if the main is outputting video to the tcon would be with a scope

How to verify symptoms for a faulty t-con board and what number on the T-con board to look at while ordering a replacement?

Sorry about bad news but you have a 1% chance of this being a timing board issue, it's going to be a bad panel, it's either a bad COF IC or a buffer capacitor on the panel board that doesn't give a picture, if it's a COF it won't be fixable, but you could test the 17-volt rail coming out of the tcon board on the side that doesn't work, if no voltage look at the MMF capacitors to see if they're shorted, there will be one for each COF, if one shows shorted they all will appear bad until removed, thern chances are only one is bad, the problem is going to be replacing them as they're very small and advanced solder skills and the proper equipment are needed.

Backlight on no screen samsung un50h6203afxzc

The model(s) that use this T-con board have a history of LED panel failure. If this board does not fix the TV, it's likely that the TV has a bad panel/screen.

I have a E60 Vizio TV that has vertical black and white lines on 1/2 the tv. I replaced the T-con board but that did not fix the problem.

The T-con board is for the led backlights!

Are the backlights working? Sounds like yes even before changing the T-con board!

Did you do the flashlight test into the screen to see if there is a faint picture? I guess if you did you didn't see a picture!

This would point to the main board or the cable from the main board to the screen!

Hitachi 32HB6J51U no picture; inverter, mainboard or T-con?

It does sound to me like the T-Con. If you can change the channels even though you can't see the picture then that's is a T-Con problem. Especially as you can see the lights. Before replacing any of the boards check for bad solder joints and poor connections between the boards, as the TV does sometimes function right.

My LCD TV has a vertical line on the right side of the screen. What causes that?

I hate to give you bad news but I believe this will be a panel issue and it's not going to be fixable. You can try a different tcon board but I don't think it will help
