Here is a board, it's from Canada but with shipping is not to bad priced at $60. I know nothing about the seller so it's possible you could get a defective board. I assume your missing the ps_on signal from the main and that's why the set won't turn on

Thanks for the info but the board that the link took me to has a different model number than the one I need. Do you know if this board will replace the one I need?

According to cross reference information on shopjimmy.com the board should work in your set, it's hard to know exactly what board crosses to what TV a lot of times and it's also common for the same model to use various boards

TV will not turn on. IS not connected to a computer

Some people recommend trying to update the firmware via USB. Instructions here, http://hubpages.com/technology/How-to-Update-Toshiba-TV-Firmware.

If it is a model 32C120U, there is a known manufacturers defect. This issue is cause by defective main board because the main processor is not well solder to the PCB or the e-prom memory lost the software data. Some time you can try replace the eprom memory on the main board (cost of the e-prom $15) or re-solder with a hot air gun the processor but 90% of the cases you have to change the main board, the cost is around $30 you can find it in www.myshoptvs.com these guy are super. To replace the main board is easy and takes not more than 25 minutes.

This could be your board here, http://www.myshoptvs.com/marketplace/4169-toshiba-32c120u2-main-unit-461c4q51l11-431c4q51l11-vtv-l40613-m6662.html

What size screws to use for the issue described below?

Sometimes the base screws, on brand new tvs, come in the 4 holes in back for mounting the tv on the wall.

Wont turn on unless it is unplugged 3 or 4 time

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Can't determine the condition of the power supply board, by just examining the fuse; you know. Contact any service technician.

Toshiba 40FT1U LCD TV has no sound

Check whether same things happen on headphone. Some components are getting excess voltage and heating up. Better to refer it to a qualified service technician.

HOW3 CAN I TELL IF THE FUSE ON MY TOSHIBA 40ft1U IS BURNT OUT

The only way to actually know, is to disconnect the set from the power, remove the back, locate the fuse, and test it with an ohm meter.

In any of these electronic devices, if the fuse is blown this means there is a short or a fault somewhere...

How to fix

Power supply, or a failed circuit board causing the power supply to go in to protect, or be damaged. You will need the service manuals, test setups, spare boards and parts to try, and especially the training.

I would consider calling the service rep for your set to get an estimate. If not, get an estimate for a new set.
