actually the two red flashing lights means your xbox is overheating you must be blocking a vent or something when it is upright

ok u need to leave it on for about 30 min. (u only need power cord in) when ur done with that, put it together and it should work for me.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like the 360 is overheating. The 3 red rings is general hardware failure which usually implies that the solder has melted and the 360 can no longer detect the ram.
My solution would be to send it back to microsoft, However if you wanted to fix it yourself, there is always sticking spacers (I suggest 3 pennies) to the ram chips located on the bottom of the motherboard. Also remove the X clamps and replace the thermal paste with arctic silver.
