    FFC PITCH, AND CONNECTORS TOO.
IS THE DISTANCE , PIN TO PIN, CENTERLINE TO CENTERLINE.
    SIMPLE QUESTIONS SIMPLE ANSWER.

RIBBON Cable is not new,l we had it in the 1970s, 3M ribbon, gray.
FFC is far newer, (I know the woman that holds the Patent !)
look inside one of the oldest LED FLUKE DMM meters, bingo on FFC. to display card.

visual too, called drafted spec data sheet on all FFC made.

the data sheets on all FFC connector also show pitch, all do, every one made on earth.

use a set of calipers to measure pitch.

btw that is metric, 0.50mm is 0.019685 inches. or as mech you'd say , 20 thou.
    or 1mm pitch.
    see the 6 pitches here

    https://www.johnsonelectric.com/en/resou...

FFC can be special ordered in what ever you want and pre cut . to any pitch made.

and ONE MORE PITFALL, the old cables have end stiffener or not, will not work in wrong sockets.

stiff to not stiff fails to fit socket (blockes insertion)
and not stiff, to stiff socket falls out. (loose as a goose)

there are the 2 ends not the same or inverted, yeah , not easy , I Can not SEE YOURS can I.?

    FFC are not so simple.

4000 divided by 25.4 is 157.48 inches. are you sure it is 4000 and not 400.0

    400 is 15.75"inches

ribbons have 3 kinds or sockets
    push on, pull of
    wedge locked.
and lever locked, (and super weak and easy to break it)
then 2 kinds stiffener use making 3 x2= 6 variants, and not the same.
    then pitch
    then length.
all that, is in the spec.

"LCD TV Car Audio DVD Player Laptop A "
what is the world does that mean?

now does LAPTOP to cAR work or mean?, incongruity max.
    are you repairing somethings
or some wild custom modifications to a car, no car told no hardware told, just vague.

From wikipedia.
Specifications
Pitch
The spacing of the conductors. The pitch typically refers to the distance from the center of one conductor to the center of its neighboring conductor. A single FFC can have different pitches between different conductors on the same cable, however this is uncommon. FFC cables are available in many pitches, such as 0.500 mm, 0.625 mm, 0.635 mm, 0.800 mm, 1.00 mm, 1.25 mm, 1.27 mm, 2.00 mm, 2.54 mm, but the most common pitches are 0.500 mm, 1.00 mm, and 1.25 mm. Custom Pitch and Multiple Pitch FFC are available upon special request.
Type
Some cables (described as Type 1 by W?rth Elektronik or Type A by Molex) have the exposed contacts on the same side at each end. Other cables (labelled Type 2 or Type D) have the exposed contacts on opposite sides of the cable (so that if the cable is lying flat, one end will have face-up contacts, and the other end will have face-down contacts).
Exposure length
The length of the electrical contact that has been exposed at the termination of the cable.
Stiffener
Most FFCs have some sort of extra material attached on the opposite side of the exposed length of the cable to facilitate ZIF or LIF connections.
Conductors size
The width and thickness of the conductors
Now the FFC Cables are widely used in a variety of printer connection between the head and the motherboard, plotters, scanners, copiers, stereos, LCD appliances, fax machines, DVD players and other products, a variety of signal transmission and plate board connections. In modern electrical equipment, FFC Cables can be found almost everywhere.

I need a wiring diagram so as to know if I have my HD installed corrrectly

It will only connect one way. If you did not force it, it should be fine.
I beleive this drive uses the double row of pins (40 total, 20 on each side) The ribbon cable should be marked on one side, red or black. That side of the ribbon goes next to the power plug for pin one.

The other end on the MB also the marked side goes to pin one.
You will need to check the jumpers to make it the master drive. there should be a diagram on the drive itself to show how to place the jumper. I've found that somtimes the diagram is rotated from your "normal" view, so pay attention to how the diagram is keyed, so as to "see" it the right way round.
It may also be different for - if you have a second (or slave) drive attached to the same ribbon cable.
The second drive also needs to be jumpered as a slave drive.
Here is a pdf which will explain it clearer with pictures.. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=7&sqi=2&ved=0CCgQFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Feshop.macsales.com%2FTech%2Fmanuals%2Fidehdsettings%2FMaxtor300.pdf&ei=itc0TbSZCc664AaKr7S-Cg&usg=AFQjCNEidj4AE_VWNcJS0hpkZcFD6IbCwA

My Braun 7570 has suddenly stopped working, but there is a high pitched whine when I switch it on.

This sounds like a battery problem. The likely remedy is to replace them. You will find batteries for your shaver at shaveroutlet.com

How can i swap the C: drive to the D; Drive and the D; Drive to my C; Drive, in other words make my computer think that my D; drive is my main hard drive?

I can answer you question presuming you have IDE drives ... but ...

where is your operating system? Do you know how to change this from old C to new C?????

An IDE drive can be identified by a wide gray ribbon cable. They come in 40 conductor and 80 conductor versions.

If you have the 80, your computer uses a "cable select" method to choose C and D. Remove both, the one that was D goes on the end of the cable and will become C. The one that was C goes between C and the mother board. On the back of your drives, you should already have shorted "Cable Select"

If you have a 40 conductor cable, you will have to change the shorting pins. Instructions should be on the top of the drive (diagrans to show what pins to short) If you have an extra shorting device when you are done, leave it on a single pin in case you need it later.

I hope this helps you ... and remember, you still need an operating system.

I guess you could (stress COULD) go into the BIOS and make D the the boot device ... but im not real excited about this. There are a hundred things that could mess this up, starting with the default paths that all software come with.

Let me know how you make out ...
