Re-starting the PC won't do anything for the speakers. The PC can't see them! What it can see is the sound device, card or on-board chip. If you had a previous pair of speakers working on the same connection, it seems unlikely that your sound device is to blame. Try slowly removing and re-inserting the plug a few times whilst some music is playing to see if the sound suddenly comes on. Some of these plugs are not too good at making connection! If this is unsuccessful get back and I will take you thro' proceedure to check your sound device. Ian. P.S. Take it the power light is on the speakers?

Internal speakers not working

Some desktop computers do not have speakers. You have to plug in speakers. They have their own power supply, and a cord with a lime green plug. It plugs into the lime green hole on the back (or sometimes also on the front) of the computer.

My Samsung Home Theater System Shuts off about 2 seconds after turning on. The display says PROTECT and then shuts off. Any suggestions?

Hello David - That message is telling you the system is shutting itself down because of some electrical abnormality that could damage it or a situation causing it to overheat.

I suggest you first unplug the unit and let it sit for an hour or two. Power it back up. If the warning is still there power it down. Now would be the time to consider whether you have made any changes to the system, even anything as small as moving a speaker.

The most common reason for the error is that there is a short somewhere, usually in the speaker wire itself or at the connector to either the speaker or the system. Overheating is not the issue because of the short time between power up and the message. Detach everything that is attached to the unit (devices and cables/speakers) and power it up again. If the error persists you have an issue requiring service, hopefully under warranty.

If it doesn't that's a great sign and the next step is to attach everything back ONE device/cable at a time, powering the unit down before you attach the next device/cable. Be extra careful with the cable attachment and while you're handling the cable look for any visible abnormality with the cable, bare cable, cracked connector, etc.

Obviously if the error returns right after any connection the problem is right there, most likely a speaker cable and the fix is to make sure the cable is not shorting at the connections to speaker or receiver and if that can't be found visibly replace the cable with a new one.

Good Luck and Thanks for using Fix Ya.

On the back of the computer you will see a blue, red and lime green connector. Usually the speaker goes into the lime green plug. Also if there is a black plug instead of a lime green plug,, plug it in there.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

The blue is for a audio in and pink is the mic. Green is the audio out.
You will need to buy a new video card that has all 4-5 colors (green,,black, orange, blue, pink, white)
That way you can plug in all your connections and it'll work correctly.

Hi

Looking at the manual http://www.alteclansing.com/downloads/EUR/VS2121%20manual.pdf page 3 of the pdf says Connect the lime green 3.5mm stereo cable (hardwired into the right satellite) to the lime green input labeled ?FRONT? on your sound card. So your right speaker should have a cable with a green end that plugs into your standard audio out jack If you have multiple outputs and don't know which you are set up for, then turn the speakers on and up, put a long song on, and plug that green wire into every jack on the PC! If you've got no other issues you'll hear something! Good Luck
