Hi there,

Unless you design and assemble one, there is no external charger for your battery..

Will my battery shut off when finished or will it over charge

Depends on what battery you're talking about and the charger used. Not all chargers can taper off to maintain a trickle charge so those kind will overcharge your battery.
tip

How to troubleshoot a laptop charger.

  • Step 1 Wrap your charger's exposed wiring with electrical tape before proceeding. This will help to prevent any kind of electrical hazard or further damage.
  • Step 2 Push the wire next to the charger base (the connecting tip near the laptop end) side to side to see if you can get a current to connect. This is a temporary solution, but it can help you salvage your files so that you can work with them on a different computer.
  • Step 3 Make sure that it isn't a battery problem. Many laptop owners believe their charger is the problem when their battery is charging. Laptop batteries generally begin to lose the ability to hold a charge after two to three years of heavy usage. Try removing your laptop battery. If the computer still runs, the charger is not the problem.
  • Step 4 Check to see if the issue lies in your computer. You can do this by testing out an alternate charger on the laptop--if the charger still does not work, it's an internal laptop issue. For this kind of power system problem, you will probably have to send your computer to its manufacturer rather than a local repair shop.
  • Step 5 Replace your charger. A replacement charger is usually easy to find and quite affordable. Instead of going to a local electronics retailer where universal chargers can cost $100 or more, look online for your specific model's charger. Some chargers can be purchased for as little as $5

Will 18 volt black & decker charger over charge battery

Hello Howard, There are two different kind of cordless drill chargers. One is a smart charger that will not overcharge your battery. It usually has a stand alone base that the battery plugs into and sometimes may have a red and/or a green light to let you know it is charged. This charger will stop charging when the battery is fully charged after an hour or less. The other one is a dumb charger that can overcharge your battery if left on the charger too long. This charger usually has a square or rectangular transformer that plugs directly into your wall receptacle. This charger may take up to eight hours to fully charge your battery and will continue to charge until you unplug it.

    Iphone 3g proper charging

Once you purchase the iphone, dont use it yet.Instead of using it right away, kindly charge your IPhone with the wall charger for 3 hrs. Please dont use the Iphone while charging.Kindly check always if the battery is full.Once its fully charged then that's the time that you can use the iPhone. Once fully charged, let the iPhone's battery fully drain. Please keep the iPhone off for 2 hours.Fully charge your iPhone and allow the battery to rest in the fully charged state for two hours. (You may use your iPhone during this time as long as the iPhone is plugged in).Repeat the third and fourth step a maximum of three times if you feel your battery indicator is inaccurate.

Here are some tips for your everyday charging for your IPhone:
#1 - Charge your iPhone throughout the day when available. Charge EVERY night, regardless of charge level. This will keep your battery active, which is healthy for the iPhone's battery.
#2 - Use a wall charger or car charger w/ rated output 5V 1A. Computer chargers might not charge when the computer is in standby mode.
#3 - You cannot overcharge your iPhone. You don't need to disconnect the iPhone from the charger after it's done charging. Once fully charged, the iPhone will run strictly off of AC power and will not damage the battery.
#4 - Every two months, make sure you fully charge and fully drain the battery, in one cycle. This calibrates your battery indicator. If you fail to do this, your indicator will become inaccurate. Calibrating your battery does not improve battery life.
#5 - If you ever need to store your iPhone for any reason, make sure your battery is stored @ roughly 50% and in a cool environment.
#6 - Always charge your iPhone out of its case (assuming you can easily remove the case). Charging your iPhone inside your case will make the iPhone hotter, which is bad for the battery.
#7 - Charge your iPhone in a cool location. Charging your iPhone in a cool environment has a tremendous impact on your battery's lifespan. The colder the location you use to charge, the more charging cycles you can complete without your battery deteriorating. Avoid charging in direct sunlight.
#8 - Use properly rated chargers. Using chargers that are not properly rated will have a huge impact on your battery's lifespan. Make sure your car charger has the same rating as the official Apple charger.
The official Apple wall charger is rated as follows:
    Input: 100 240V ~ 50/60 Hz 1.0A
    Output: 5V 1A
    Thanks!

Can you charge camera from USB?

You don't say what make or model the camera is, so I can only answer generally. Most cameras, as opposed to most cellphones, do not charge the battery in the camera at all. They are supplied with a separate mains charger- you take the battery out of the camera and put it in the charger. I have a number of cameras with USB connectors, and none of them charge while connected to the computer.

If you bought the camera new, and it came with a charger, then the camera almost certainly needs the charger to charge the battery. If you purchased it used or it was a hand-me-down, and you didn't get a charger, then the seller or giver has probably been remiss. It won't hurt to leave the camera connected to the computer's USB port to see if it will charge, but when that doesn't work, you can find a replacement charger for your camera by searching Amazon with the camera model number and the word "charger". Better, you can get a "universal" charger on Amazon for as little as $4 that will charge any of the small lithium batteries used in cameras and phones (assuming this isn't a huge battery of the kind fitted to older video cameras). I have a universal charger and it is easy to use and has saved me a lot of money as I no longer need to buy a replacement for every type of battery I come across.

My camera needs to be charged and i have lost the battery charger. so i put my camera on the usb cord and into the computer and tried to turn it on but it wont work.

You don't say what model camera it is, so I am going to have to do some guessing. If your battery charger normally charges the battery in the camera, then it probably will charge when connected to the computer by the USB lead. However, some cameras require the battery to be taken out and charged in an external charger. If that is the case with yours, then it probably won't charge by connecting to the computer.

It is normal for a camera connected to a computer via the USB lead to go into a kind of passive mode, just acting as an external disk drive so that files can be transferred, so not being able to turn the camera on while it is so connected might be normal. However, if you mean that you left it connected for awhile to charge up, but it wouldn't turn on after you disconnected it, then it is obvious that it cannot be charged up that way.

    My razr does not charge

when your phone doesn't charge, three things might be the problem, namely;the charger, the charging port of the phone or the battery.to be sure its not your charger, try using the charger to charge another phone of its kind,if it charges another phone then you can be sure the charger is not the problem, but if it doesn't,it means the charger needs replacement.
you can insert the battery in another phone and charge to know if the battery is the problem,if it charges then you can conclude the fault is not from your battery and the charger but rather the charging port of your phone is bad, you'll need to take it to a qualified technician to help you fix it
