Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Hi I have a Samsung HT-Z110. It plays DVD fine picture & sound if I plug in all the 5.1 Channel.speakers. But I only get picture and no sound if I use the video/audio out to my TV.

Tried other cables & a component cable. But still no audio. Lost my remote, is there is an option to switch the audio from 5.1 channel speakers or video/audio out?. Or is the video out connectors damaged?. Thank you Greg

SET THE CONNECTION TO AUXILLARY

Posted on Jul 23, 2021

Testimonial: "Thanks Renee great suggestion. I pushed the Function button to Aux option on the front of the machine. Screen goes black and title shows Audio In on TV.But no sound or picture. I also connected antenna and push function to radio, but no audio. Im thinking that maybe the audio connectors are damaged or if I can buy a remote it might have other audio options. I was given this device and no remote. Thanks Greg"

Some of my speakers arn't playing sound on my HT-E555OW

If you are trying to play a cd, you must manually tell the unit to play it in surround sound. Cd audio defaults to stereo only. Does it do the same thing if you are playing a dvd? If it happens on dvd's as well, then something in the speaker setup menu is wrong.

Hi, Ive tried to set up my samsung blue ray

It seems as though the HT works fine, so to get the TV itself to play through the HT setup, take the audio out from the TV and hook it up to a separate channel on the HT receiver. Turn on TV and receiver and put the receiver on the respective channel of the receiver. I hope this helps.

When i turn on my samsung HT-Z110, the word "Protect" appears...

Protect mode will kick in whenever a fault is detected.

You get the unit not powering up, and sometimes you hear a clicking noise, that is the protection switch that keeps shutting down the unit.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

No voice sound through speaker with DVD system, only music?

first check the settings on the audio menu of the dvd player. make sur it is set to 5.1 (if available) otherwise set it to stereo and your system should decode it.
assuming the second step is okay : as other dvd you play seem to work) it still may be that your unit is decoding stereo inputs just fine and 5.1 is not working properly....
so if adjusting audio settings in dvd play back menu dont work,
check that the cables to the satellite speakers are connected correctly and all plugged in soundly ( voice is high frequency,- coming from satellites - the garbled noises you hear are the base ( low freq) elements of voice which are coming from the bass box ( that the X.1 part of 5.1) and so that is obviously working. ,
