Are you logged in as administrator? I'm not familiar with that particular software but most have the same sort of problems. In windows 7 you may need to 'take ownership' of the disk as administrator. Look at the 'exe" for her software in windows explorer. Right click on it and look at the security tab and see how it is set up. There and under the advance tab you will find settings including ownership, who can use.
Does the floppy work for other things? It may be that the pc isn't seeing the floppy drive properly. Try reading a different floppy and see if it also gives you the "no ID" msg. All discs have an ID so I'm not sure if this message is referring to the drive itself or to the floppy file. Look in CONTROL PANEL and make sure the PC is 'seeing' the floppy drive and showing that it is working properly.
The software you need to connect the Pfaff 7570 to the PC and to create your designs is called PC-Designer version 2.2 from Pfaff. You may be able to find a used copy. The software should come with a dongle (special cable) for connecting the machine to the PC. Make sure you have this piece because it will not work with an ordinary cable. Depending on what type of port you have on the PC to connect to, you may also need an adapter since the dongle has an old style connector on the end going to the PC. If you are going to create your own designs, you will also need a storage card which inserts into the machine that you send the designs to. Pfaff makes one, called the creative card. I have also used a generic card meant for the pfaff; the generic card is less expensive and has a greater capacity. You can find many designs online either free or for sale to send from PC to Pfaff as well.
If you purchased the software after April 1st,2006 then you will be entitled to a free upgrade. If not you might have to purchase the software. Here is a link to the PFAFF software download page. http://www.pfaff.com/global/11283.html
Your PC's floppy disk is not readable by the disk drive, probably because you don't use the drive as much, and it has gathered a layer of dust and dirt inside. It's necessary for you to clean the floppy drive using a special disk with a special cleaner liquid. However, with floppy drives going the way of the dinosaurs, it may be difficult to find such item nowadays.
Try getting one of those small compressed air canisters to clean your keyboard and try blowing the dirt off the mechanism of your drive.
If that fails, it's possible your floppy disk has gone bad. Data on these disks have only a certain life span measured in years.
If that also fails, then write to PFAFF and ask for a replacement disk of the same version of the software, sending them proof of purchase, etc, so that they will comply without any questioning.
Good luck!
I have Windows Vista; I also had a similar problem; found out that I could only use the usb port on my computer exclusively for sewing as the driver software seems to conflict;
Also, having said that, go to Pfaff.com & download the free driver upgrade and see if that will get you started good luck deb
I have somewhere that installation diskette (with the old SW version). If I'm not mistaken it was not included with the sewing machine but sold separately with the embrodery arm that we bought together with it some 10 years ago. Email me to [email protected] if you need more help.
It sounds like you have it configured properly if you have the little machine and computer appearing on the display screen. I had this problem too in the beginning, file assistant doesn't use the files for the 7570 its only for some of the newer machines, use Vip customize to send the design to the machine from the file drop down menu. Hope this helps.
