Shredder goes 1/3 and stops has to be reversed the forward also paper comes out punched but unshredded

its the combination of plastic parts in the shredding device . the plastic tongs part craks off then the metal binds . paper builds up in that area .
its unlikely you can fix it .
youll put ur eye out trying.

Shredder stops - red light off

Some shredders are great for thicker paper. If you put a thicker piece of card through, it should activate the switch located in the middle of the shred blades. The paper might be too light to push it forward. Also, if you click the feed catch beyond it's operating position, this can also stop the shredder with no lights.

My shredder runs non stop, when I insert paper to shred , it stops... I push reverse, it works , pull paper out and runs non stop.......

Sounds like a bad or stuck sensor, acting as if it is always seeing a peice of paper in it. Check if you can find it and maybe it is just stuck to the on position..

Hello my nane is Tom. The shredder doesn't work. It will run in reverse but when I turn it to forward it run for a second or two than stops. I looked and I can't see anything jamed in it.

I got mine to work by running it on reverse for a moment then sliding it to auto. It stopped. Then I did it again. This time auto ran just for a second then stopped. I did it a third time but I had a sheet of paper ready in the feeder. Ran on reverse. Slid it to auto and it took the paper and shred it. I did it a fourth time. Reverse slide auto and feed shred the paper. Fifth time Auto shred the paper without reverse. :)

Only runs in reverse

I just had this problem with my shredder. I think the problem started with a bin that was full. Running the shredder in reverse resulted in shredded paper being pulled up into the slot used to feed paper into the shredder. Some of this shredded paper was blocking the little plastic tab that activates the switch when paper is inserted, so the shredder would no longer start when paper was inserted. I emptied the bin and removed the shredded paper from the feed slot, being careful not to break the plastic "sensor" while removing the paper from under it. The shredder works fine now.

Shedder one works

This is an issue with the paper feed sensor which may be a electronic eye or a mechanical switch if it is mecanical you may just have to jiggle the switch a few times, occasionally paper may get stuck behind it not letting it activate. If it is electronic you have bad sensors or bad pc board and you'll have to contact the manufacturer for further info.

Shredding stops after 2 or 3 inches

If you have a strip cut machine it may be a problem with the gears. if it is not a strip cut it may be overheating due to not being oiled. First check with your manual to make sure you are not exceeding your duty cycle some machines only have a 2min on and 10 min off cycle,
