Dehumidifier won't stop running when the bucket is full.
I have a Yaufey HD163A that's worked fine for a couple years. Recently the unit has been running even after the bucket is full of water. It will also continue to run after I remove the tank. Solutions?

The first thing that comes to mind, is have you emptied the water collection bucket recently? If so, be sure that the bucket was properly reinstalled and is making contact with the bucket safety removal switch.
If you haven't emptied the bucket in the past few days, it may simply be full and will not start until it's emptied.
Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
Sue, if you haven't noticed any water draining from the hose recently, it may be that the hose connection and tubing of the unit are clogged and the drained water pressure is causing the unit to show "Bucket Full." Also, if the bucket is not properly in place, whether you use the drain hose or not, it will cause the unit to stop functioning. You know how to correct that, so I won't go into detail on that issue.
To unclog the drain, you will need an 18" long, plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO wire coat hangers though) that will fit into the hose connection. TURN THE UNIT OFF AND UNPLUG IT. Then carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in until you reach the bend in the tubing. You will have to carefully work it past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Now, while rotating it, slowly pull it out and be prepared for some water to follow.
Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.
Hi,
Sounds like the circuit board...they often will just do that...IF you can get one it will be half the cost of a new unit...
There are many reasons why a dehumidifier willnot work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrongwith their dehumidifier
Dont spend to much time trying to repair dehumidifier they are very cheap to replace. Most dehumidifiers have lots of problems because they are made so cheap. Just replace the dehumidifier you will tank me in the end.
Unplug from wall. Take the front cover off and disconnect the 2 wires that attach to the humidity control dial. Plug back in. If it works, the problem is the humidty control dial (mine just went bad). With it unhooked, it will run constantly, but will still turn off when the bucket is full. To turn off, simply unplug.
I have a LG model LHD65EBL that first started icing up along the top edge during humid days. After several months of this, it finally stopped working and displayed CH01 with the bucket full indicator flashing.
I took apart the dehumidifier, removed the temperature sensor from the coil and rubbed it between my fingers. I then plugged in the unit and it started right up, confirming either a sensor or other circuit problem related to that sensor. For my model unit, I ordered sensor assembly #6877A30013L from RepairClinic.com for $21.75 + shipping.
When I received the assembly, I measured the new and old sensor with an ohm meter: new sensor = 5.5KOhms, old, defective sensor = 5.34KOhms. I installed the new sensor assembly and the unit is working fine.
Just because the bucket full indicator is flashing along with an error code does not mean there is a problem with the bucket full switch.
Try cleaning out the air filter using cold water. I did not even know the unit had one until I had the same problem. Pull out the bucket. The filter is located where the front top edge of the bucket would be located if it were in the instrument. Remove it by pulling straight down. It may be taped to the instrument for shipping purposes. According to the manual, this should be done every month. I have had the machine since Katrina and this is the first time I have had a problem. Hope this helps.
