Mitsubishi LT-52246 has sound but no backlight, i.e. the televised images are visible using the flashlight test. I am reading voltages that are what I believe in range and am having a tough time discerning which components have gone bad. Anyone have any insight to a surefire method to decide which board needs to be replaced? I'm a novice here so step by step would be appreciated.

If your Vizio TV has sound but no picture, and you have already done the flashlight test, it may indicate that your TV's backlight or power supply is malfunctioning. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the cables: Make sure that all cables are properly connected between the TV and any devices you are using, such as a cable box or DVD player.
Check the input source: Ensure that the TV is set to the correct input source that the device is connected to. You can cycle through the input sources using the input button on your TV remote.
Power cycle the TV: Turn off your TV and unplug it from the power outlet for at least 1 minute, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes resolve issues related to the TV's power supply.
Reset the TV: Try resetting the TV to its default settings. You can find this option in the TV's menu settings.
Contact support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may indicate a hardware problem with the TV's backlight or power supply. In this case, you should contact Vizio support or a qualified technician for further assistance.
Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts or search the site by type in the brand name of your set, at its search box at the right column.. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ https://elektrotricks.blogspot.com/
Search the site by type in the brand name of your set, in its search bar at the right side column, and press enter. See it in Webview with mobile or by desktop. Mobile View has no search box.
The Audio and Video are two separate components and operate independently of each other. Therefore: The Video portion requires technical repair by a technician with the proper test equipment.
If you can see an image on screen via flashlight test then the backlighting is not working. And the inverter board is the unit that powers those lights ..... So....................
