I understand your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAS296R2A, is not cooling. I also see that, both the filter and condenser are clean. First, try setting the temperature lower. Secondly, the compressor could have shut off by changing modes. Set to the "COOL" setting and wait about 3 minutes for the compressor to restart. Lastly, check the temperature sensing element, located behind the air filter, to make sure it is not touching a cold coil. If it is, straighten the sensor away from the coil. I hope this is helpful.

First, check to see that the temperature sensing element, located behind air filter, is not touching a cold coil. If it is, straighten the element away from the coil. Secondly, try resetting to a lower temperature. Lastly, the compressor may have shut-off by changing modes. Wait approximately 3 minutes and listen for compressor to restart when set in the COOL mode. Check to see if it has excess water draining out. It might be clooged somewhere.

Lowering the temperature setting doesn't change the temperature of the air coming out of the unit it just lets it run until the room temperature gets colder. Check the temp of the air coming out of the unit. If it isn't as cold as it used to be the charge could be low. First though you should make sure the filters are clean and the coils.You should also check the actual room temp. It's also possible the unit doesn't have enough capacity to keep up with the cooling load of the room.

Did you set your thermosstat temperatures, they have to be lower than the actual room temperature at the time for cooling.

One thing to check is to make sure the evaporator and condenser coils are clean. Any dirt here will short ccle the compressor.
