Samsung backlight on and off w/ no picture?

I own a Samsung model un70nu6900fxza that recently stopped operating. Backlight turns on briefly then shuts off, red light blinks 2 times and then backlight turns back on moments later, and repeats this process indefinitely. When tv was still on wall and connected to cable and sound bar via optic I had sound when backlight would cycle on and off. But nothing else. I have little experience in this field, but I figured I would give it a shot and gamble on the complete repair kit from shop jimmy. Purchased, received, installed same problem. Has anyone had this issue before and what resolved it?

The 2 flash blink code is LED backlight power supply reset according to Samsung service information. You have bad backlights, it's a common failure on this model TV along with many other LED sets, order a set from shopjimmy or if you want to save some money and not in a hurry to receive them aliexpress has them for about 1/3 the cost but it will take a couple weeks to get them.

The issue may be the short circuit between VGH and VSS. The TV can work by isolating VGH from the main board.

Fault with the main power supply [SMPS] board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size

My TV is UN70NU6070FXZC having a same issue as it above. Nothing changed after replaced main board and power supply board. All leds of backlight are ok. The voltages can't be measured since TV turns off soon, but it is found that thereis a plaque on one of 12 COFs and the resistor value to grond for 1&10 pins of T18 (1182J? what is it?) on logic board are more than 2M. are they fault or other fault please? Thanks a lot!

Samsung backlight temporarily flickers like a flash bulb when first turned on. Can still see the whole picture. After 30 mins it stops.

There are long skinny light tubes behind the screen that use high voltage to operate. What you are seeing is what it looks like right before they fail. They can be replaced, but it is a big job.

How to fix my Samsung tv ..picture goes in and out intermittently

The inverter board is responsible for the backlight so you can see the picture. If the picture just goes off intermittently then that means that the backlight is being turned off. And since the inverter board powers the backlighting you might want to look there.

I have sound but no picture. The picture can be seen by shining a torch(Flashlight) on it. What needs replacing please?

The backlight has failed. If it is an LCD television, likely the fluorescent backlight or the ballast has failed. If it is an LED television, the backlight driver has failed.

I have sound but no picture

oh, so that's your problem. I'm willing to bet you have a picture but just no backlight. Now does the screen come on briefly when you first turn the TV on? Or is the screen black at all times?? Turn on the TV, turn off the lights in the room. Take a very bright flash light and shine it one the screen.I bet you see a dim picture. It sounds like you have a backlight problem. Either you are missing 24VDC from the power supply, 3.3VDC "backlight on" signal from the main board, a bad inverter, or a bad backlamp.

Philips 50pf9631d/10 Audio ok but no picture

Bad power supply or backlight inverter.

If the backlight is not turning on, you should be able to see the lcd image by shining a bright flashlight at the screen.

Backlight inverters are loud, so you can hear them operating (high pitched whine) and if the backlight is coming on, you can see white light leaking around the edge of the screen, and even a little inside the cabinet.

Philips are legendary for having power supplies that fail due to bad capacitors, so that could be the culprit as well.

Samsung monitor picture clicks off after 2-5 seconds...

Yes, It sounds like the backlight inverter circuit is shutting down. No inverter power, no backlight. On some monitors the inverter circuit will shot circuit the power power supply which makes the power light flash on some it just kills the backlight. You can usually check with a flashlight. Hold the flashlight pointed at the screen and see if you can see any of the icons or background picture. If you can then it is the backlight circuit or backlight tubes, usually the circuit.
