Esam 6700 coffee granuales go everywhere

Hi guys, This issue has been winding me up for ages. I've had the machine serviced by Kenwood Delonghi and after about 8 months the problem reoccurs. I think I've sorted it now though.
If you remove the infuser and push on the metal disc it will go down in to the camber / Cylinder, this can be quite hard at first but this is why the problem occurs, the slide doesn't' go up and down the camber/cylinder.

What I do now is soak the whole infuser in soapy water for 10 minutes and then move the infuser up and down in the cylinder (this can be a little hard at first but it frees up as it gets clean) then clean and dry it all off. Then if you use a bit of lubricant, you can buy this but I just used frylite and then moved the piston in the cylinder up and down to free it up. You will see all of the coffee build up start to come out. Keep cleaning and moving it under the water and it cleans it out properly. Using the frylite acts as a food safe lubricant to facilitate this movement. Keep it moving until it moves up and down freely. Once you are confident that the piston can move up and down freely, reinstall and get the machine turned back on and hey presto. Nice coffee, no mess inside the machine and more importantly, no grounds in the bottom of your coffee 8-)

Unable to remove infuser, no warning light, reset multiple times, brews coffee fine

You should go to test mode and try moving infuser up and down to position when you can take it out it needs some skill of timing. After that you need to disassemble infuser completely clean it up and lube with special food grade lube. Also there could be a problem with transmission kit that cause this problem.

I have a delonghi magnifica. The ! light stays on solid, and the cup lights stay on green solid. The infuser does move up and down when I unplug and re-plug, but eventually it sits in the up position, with...

If cleaning the infuser doesn't work, sometimes the error will go away over time or after you try to unplug from the wall. Finally, a system reset may help: you accomplish a hard reset by having the machine plugged in, pressing and holding down both the decalcify and ground coffee buttons, unplug the machine for 15 seconds (still holding down the buttons), then replugging the machine into the socket before releasing the buttons.

Yesterday and today the machine did not come on as normal it said press next + change, nyesterday when I did that it said generic alarm, but then worked, today the generic alarm would not go off. the book...

I had the same problem with the infuser stuck at the top and the triangle light staying lit. I fixed it by unplugging it from the wall. I then removed the side panel and the back panel.

Facing the rear move the sprocket that the motor drives. The best way to start it (if it is stuck) is with a flat screen driver on the right side of the motor and push the sprocket towards the front. Once it starts you can either pull the belt from the other side or push it from the right side. It took 10 minutes to get the infuser to completely come down.

After that I pulled it out and cleaned everything. When I put everything back together the light stayed on and the machine would not respond. I did fix it by turning on the machine, pulled the power plug, and when I plugged it back in the system went through its cycle. Everything is fine now.

The infuser seems to be stuck to the side and I cant get at the red release button on the right hand side

Put back together, turn on the machine, then turn of the machine with the power button on the machine, then turn of the power point, should be back in place to push in both red buttons, enjoy your working machine and coffee, cant find an answer for my issue

Took tray and grounds tray out to clean and it won't go back in - it is jamming. Have cleaned inside but still stuck. Tried pulling infuser out but this is stuck as well. Appears that central unit has...

I had this problem last night. The infuser was stuck down too low and the tray wouldn't slide in. I got the solution from FIXYA, and it worked for me.

First make sure machine is off at power, then put just the coffee grounds collector and not the whole tray back into place, gently close the door, and then turn the machine back on. At first I couldn't close the door, but I fgured that the grounds collector was a bit too low, so just put something in there to hold it up while I shut the door. Turn the machine back on at power and HEY PRESTO, it all started up again, and then the infuser moved back into correct position.

Make sure you have a cup handy just incase water starts to rinse out.

Hope this helps

Infuser stuck up my delongi magnifica

I have a problem. I removed the infuser and the internal bracket is now in a "down" position and I cannot get the infuser back in. I need to know how to raise the internal bracket to its proper place. Any ideas?

DeLonghi Magnifica always asks "Insert Infuser Assembly"

DeLonghi "Insert infuser assembly" error

Easy Fix - Delonghi Coffee machines which have built-in coffee grinders often suffer from a problem that produces an error, "Insert infuser assembly" that appears at random times.

The problem is usually caused by distortion of infuser lifting mechanism limit switch mounting (Orange colored plastic)!

The mounting is very close to the water heater so with heat and pressure from the infuser lifting mechanism the mounting gets bent over time. The switch mounting (Orange colored plastic) gets permanently distorted so the striker arm on the lifting assembly only just presses the micro switch button causing the error message "Insert infuser assembly".

To easily fix the problem on ESAM 5500 machines and should work on other similar machines:-

1.Unplug the machine and remove the rear cover screws and remove.

2.Slide out the two side covers.

3.Remove the grinder lever screw in the top cover coffee bean compartment.

4.Carefully lift the top cover pushing it slightly back so it does not stick under the front cover (you may have to loosen the 4 front cover screws on the side).

5.The limit switch is clearly visible on the top (see photos).

6.Wedge some insulated material (wood, plastic etc, I used bamboo) between the heater assembly and the switch mounting so the switch is in a VERTICAL position. The thickness of the packing is around 3-4mm (see photo).

7.Re-assemble the machine and enjoy your coffee. JTS
