954 is not the real model, if you read the service tag ,it has a more complex number.

CRAIG CHT954 (circa 2015) and with horrible reviews, for bluetooth cuts out they say.?
not getting the model correct makes answers 10000x too hard. really.

I had the same problem and I hope this awnser will help because there could be multiple problems, but my solution from experience is that the charger on top of the speaker has been moved forward and even being just a centimeter can mess it up so what I do is when I put my device on it I wedge the system remote begin the device and I'm te hole of the charger pocket where the phone goes, to push the phone forward so it can connect to the speaker
