Buy the special screwdriver for the security screws. Unplug the machine. Wrap yourself in aluminium foil to protect you from microwaves. Find the sounder on the main board and fill it with epoxy resin. Don't touch the big capacitor looking thing as it stores 600 volts, just waiting to zap you, heart stoppingly so. Don't breathe too deeply as the magnetron core contains poisonous heavy metals. Now you know why it has security screws!

My microwave stopped beeping how 2 make microwave beep again

Some microwaves have a feature where if you hold the "Start cooking" button or something similar it will put it onto silent mode, this mode is generally for people who are cooking with others sleeping etc.

To turn this off you should try and hold the start button and see if this helps.

My microwave has lost its beep when it has finished its time set???

What make and model is it? Does it beep when you press other buttons, or is it always silent now? It could be the speaker if there is no sound at all. Or perhaps you accidentally set the microwave to a silent setting. Try looking in the manual or searching online for silent mode for your microwave model.

  • MagnetronIf your microwave is emanating high pitched or growling noises during operation, the magnetron could be going bad. Normally a nearly silent part, the magnetron uses high voltage and induces the frequency required to cook food. Although normally not a safety hazard to operate, this is a sign that the magnetron is failing and will need to be replaced as soon as possible.
  • Exhaust fan motorIf your microwave is making a very loud humming noise during operation, it could possibly be the exhaust fan motor. If defective the part will need to be replaced to silence the appliance once more.
  • Stirrer motorAnother leading cause of a noisy microwave is an expired stirrer motor. With use this part becomes worn and makes a loud grinding noise, which is usually a leading indicator that the part needs to be replaced. The stirrer is a metal blade that is slowly turned by the motor. This action disperses the microwave energy in a random pattern, which heats the food evenly. If the stirrer motor is determined to be nearing expiration, it should be replaced to halt the grinding noise.
  • Turntable motorA very common cause for a noisy microwave is a worn out turntable motor. This is a relatively easy repair and will put an end to the noise once replace

Check contacts to control board first.

If control board is OK then test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron. If all this are fine, test the control board.

Thediode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must bealloweddischarge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, evenifpower is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting theirtwocontacts.
Before replacing the magnetron test also the control board.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

    A rattling noise

You have a problem with the microwave stirrer motor. Cost of part is near $90 and will require 2+ hours to get to, exchange and close back up.

Either get a new microwave of put up with the noise (which I did for 6+ years).
