I recently bought one and a new garden hose to fill it up as it was not working as I wanted. We have created a lovely exterior area for the little devils to play in the summer, and since the size of the inflatable pool we added is huge, a good and fast hose was also a good addition. The thing is that the kids drink the water from time to time out of it when we are not around, and as you might know, a lot of the hoses in the market are toxic. So we found handy the review byhttps://cornygardener.com/drinking-water... before choosing one!

Reduce the power to the pump.
Sounds like a battery opperated pump, use a lower voltage.

We purchased a mushroom fountain from canadian tire and need a replacement submersible fountain pump pt300-70 can you supply the pump or advise where we can get one?

fixya site doesn't sell anything
most fountain pumps can be bought from nursery supplies , quality hard ware retailers and some irrigation pump and parts retailers
take your pump along as a sample to get the correct voltage and pump capacity
most are a simple impeller running on a plastic shaft and they fail because moss, weed , hair etc wrap around the shaft and jam the impeller movement

How high does this pump example high high can fountain top be if pump is at bottom?

From the photo on the box, it looks like it will through a nice stream 4 to 6' high.

No details available though. Make sure the outlet of the pump is right at the water surface. You will need some rocks, bricks or a hidden floating platform to make it the right level.

If it is below water level, the fountain will be much smaller (may lose half of height for every inch below surface. 1" = 3 feet stream, 2" = 18 inch stream, ...

OASE fountain pump fluctuates height every other day.

No there is not 2 speeds. That model is asychronous so power fluctuations can affect pumping. How clean is the plug end and how dry is the receptacle? Is there is chance a extension cord is used [code violation almost everywhere] in this hookup? Perhaps it's just debris circulation and restricting intake?

Pond pump types

There are basically two types of pond pumps to choose from - externally mounted and submersible. External pumps were traditionally used in water gardens. They sit outside the pond, with a hose that leads from a strainer in the pond to the pump. From there the water is forced either to a waterfall, stream or fountain. Because external pond pumps are often noisy and require extra plumbing, they are usually not suited for most backyard ponds. Due to easier accessibility and ease of repair, however, external water pumps are often the best choice for larger water gardens and public installations. Submersible water pumps are usually preferred by most do-it-yourselfers. They sit underwater where they are quiet and unseen. These pumps are easy to install, require no priming and stay cool thanks to the surrounding water. Submersible pumps draw water from the bottom of the pond, either through a strainer or biological filter. A hose attached to the outlet then feeds water to whichever water feature you have installed.
