The EU does not have parts availability like some other countries. With that in mind your unit can have a failure in the led strips that are behind the screen and the screen wont light properly, if this happens when the unit is on then you see half the picture, if the unit is shut off then when it is powered on, it senses the change in the current flowing in the back light strips and wont turn on at all. The process is to find the strips and replace them or if you are inclined and trained, troubleshoot the strips to find the individual LED that failed and replace only those.

Normally clearing the drum count the machine has to be on open front cover as if to change the drum press and hold the button in for about 10 second then release and shut the door. This should reset the count if not please get back to me and I'll check the service manual to see if anything in that.

USE:CAUTION WHEN DOING THIS....
Try this if repairing yourself...find power supply, small board with no cover over it...check voltages on output pins/plug/connectors (white plugs) three in a row...
1 Plug has 24Volt supply..1 has 12Volt supply and 1 has 5Volt supply when read to ground (screw that holds board in) if you have these voltages it's a safe bet it's the main control board...I just replaced mine and it fixed a problem like yours.
