It is possible that the igniter went bad and should be replaced.

SOURCE: one igniter produces no spark. is it bad? can i

Looks like you may have a bad ignitor. Try adjusting the arc gap. Sometimes of the ignitor is too close to the burner, the ignitor will not spark. It may also be that te burner is dirty and needs a little cleaning to allow for the electric ignitor spark to arc accross, thus producing ignition. Good luck.

SOURCE: Camera won't turn on. I

Hi johnandmel7 ,

If what you say is right, then you have your camera malfunctioning due to a corrupt flash software.

Therefore you need to visit the service center for canon and get it repaired as they would be having the relevant tools to install the software again on your camera.

Before doing that , please follow the below steps.

1 - Check the batteries in a similar device which uses them , to make sure they are in good condition.

2- If possible check with your neighbor or friend to give them their battery for the sake of checking your cam and if your cam starts up with their batteries then you have a problem with the batteries and you have to replace them.

SOURCE: 1991 Honda crx won't start

Try tracing the wires and looking for a worn spot in insulation that is grounding out, its a royal pain but might be the only solution, use wire prob and test areas where inaccessible. good luck

Ignitor not working on Swiss grill outdoor grill

Did the igniter continuously sparks when the button was pressed?
If it did, the igniter usually has a battery.
Try twisting the igniter button counter clockwise it gain access to a battery compartment

I fixed a CharBroiler grill’s igniter this past weekend by replacing its AA battery.

Gas igniter inoperative

Check the button. Unscrew it and change the battery. It should be a AA battery. Sometimes they are out in upside down and other times they are not installed at all.

Infared burners ignitor won't work

Mike, have you replaced the battery in the igniter button ye? That's the first place to start troubleshooting. Be sure you install the new battery facing the same direction as the old battery. Also, check the interior contacts of the battery holder for corrosion. If you find any, use a Q-Tip sprayed with a little WD40 to clean it.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, trace the igniter wire from the igniter button to the spark igniter at the burner for damaged wire or a loose connection.

And finally, try match lighting the infrared burners to make sure that they are getting an adequate flow of gas.

Hope this helped you t troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling and thanks for choosing FixYa.

2004 triumph thruxton 900 won't start. Has does not have spark. then it does have spark then it starts.already checked ingintion, igniter and coil. If you mess with the key enough it will start but...

Dont you just hate the intermitent faults? However messing with the ignition should have no bearing on the fault, other than the connection plate inside the switch has become corroded or worn away, have you removed or replaced the switch? Ifyou remove the switch and dismantle the base carefully to check for ware or corrosion, this can normaly be repaired by using a file or some heavy sandpaper to clean the contact plate, igniter units either work or they dont,

Igniters stop working. replaced once before. need new igniter.

The igniter is warrantied by the manufacturer for 3 years. And now you're on your second one. I was just wondering, have you changed the battery in the igniter button? If so, was it installed facing the same direction as the one you replaced? Was there any corrosion on the battery holder contacts? If so, a Q-Tip & WD40 does well cleaning it off. Also, the ground wire from the ignition module may be loose and is not making contact with the grill's frame. When that happens, the spark ignitors won't spark.

I hope these few things, that have been pointed out, will save you the trouble of having to replace another ignition module.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

My Perfect Flame E3520-NG won't light and I can't find support or a manual for it anywhere. I replaced the battery but still get no sparks.

There are a few things you can check.

If the igniter makes the noise like it is trying to spark then you may have a short in the igniter wire or a crack in the electrode. Also, the gap between the electrode and the igniter box may need to be adjusted to get a stronger spark.

If the ignitor doesn't make noise, it could be faulty and need to be replaced. Battery igniters are very prone to wearing out prematurely. Sometimes they can be replaced with a more reliable piezo igniter.
