Why not check bulb first

  • Alan Price Apr 10, 2021

This has an LED light unit, not a simple bulb. The switch is the simplest "first check" step. Removing the LED unit is not obvious, either!

Hi,

I thought the same with mine, but its supposed to, there is a switch near the thermostat, if you turn it off the light will go off when the door is shut, you are supposed to leave it on if the room the fridge is in is under 18 degrees, the heat off the dim bulb stabelises the temperature and keeps the freezer working

Bosch exxcel maxx fridge freezer. Frost build up behind freezer back panel pushing panel forward, preventing bottom drawer from fitting properly and consequently preventing door from shutting. How is the...

That is caused by defrosting failure. There is a small heater tube at the bottom of the evaporator behind that panel which goes bad and is easy to replace. But it all has to be defrosted using a hairdryer first. Heater can be bought online or purchased locally.

There is a buildup of ice behind the lower section of the plastic back panel which eventually prevents the door from closing.

How to take doors off Bosch Exxcel KGH39A07GB

I've just had to do this - a real pain, and you would think that Bosch would include it in the instructions or somewhere on their website!

You have to put the fridge/freezer on its back (putting a cushion or something like that at the top to make sure the back doesn't get damanged). Starting at the bottom, unscrew the three bolts holding the bottom door in place, then the middle hinge between the fridge and freezer, and then the screws at the top holding the fridge door in place. Then reverse everything round (you may have to make holes where there are dimples on the top of the freezer door/bottom of the fridge door). Good luck!

Bosch KGU31124 Freezer Not Working

I have the same freezer and get the same problems. Ice forms on the refrigeration fins beind the plastic shroud at the rear and completely blocks the airflow. The fan that moves cool air around does not work then and freezer temp goes up. Ice will often push the shroud forwards so that the door does not close properly. Warm moist air get in and just increases the ice problem.

I take the shroud and fan housing off the rear (4 screws and a wire to the fan) and defrost thoroughly using a hair dryer. You can then see when all the ice has gone..

Dodgy fridge light

Generally, these doors drop from excessive weight, a warn part or loose fittings. Unload the door and investigate. You may also want to check that the unit is levelled...the box may be warping/sagging...although this is unlikely.
