It can be done and it's a pain. You have to send it on and it takes about 2 months for the process. Considering how much you spend on it you might as well do it. You will have to pay shipping both ways about$10 Just call this number and they will give you the in you the info. (800)574-5729

Reset my jp5 mini to unlock

As I understand it, you'll have to send it to JPay for unlocking. I do not know how much it costs.

You can go to the JPay site and proceed from there.

Please unlock my jp5 mini..

Hello, Daniel -

I hope I am correct in thinking you are asking about a JPay mini tablet which is issued to people who are incarcerated in many US jails and prisons. If so . . .

I suggest you contact JPay customer support and ask how the mini tablet can be unlocked after the inmate has been released.

800 574-5729
Or send an email using the form here:

I am out of prison and want to download music but i need a unlock code so i dont have to go through jpay to download music

Hello, Eric -

Since your prison issued player is from JPay, you will need to arrange with JPay to have it unlocked for your use outside of prison. It will not work outside of prison now that you are no longer incarcerated.

I suggest you contact JPay directly and ask about the procedure for having your prison issued player unlocked:
https://blog.jpay.com/contact-us/

I believe you will need to send your tablet to JPay to have it unlocked and returned to you with the downloads you purchased and added to the player while incarcerated.

Best wishes.

An I use an iPad mini to video chat with my grandson on jpay

Hello, Lois -

A JPay account will need to have been established for your grandson, first, with money deposited in that account to pay for JPay services. He will need a JPay provided tablet with camera (cost deducted from his JPay account.) First check the policies of the correctional institution where your grandson resides.

How do I unlock the mp3 player from federal prison?

Hello, Kathy -

If the MP3 player is one from JPay, then . . .

You will need to send the player to JPay to have the company unlock it for you and return it to you.

If JPay is the company which provided the player, this is the link to their Contact Us page, providing a toll free Customer Support number you can call.

If the player was provided through another prison commissary services business, then, you need to identify the company. To do so, choose Comment, here, and type in the company name.

How do I send my jp5 player back to unlock? I am now at home and need access to my player

Hello, Gary -

From JPay (a provider of the JP5 and other prison commissary items to correctional center inmates in the USA):
https://blog.jpay.com/jp5-101/comment-page-3/

(Quote)
. . . send it to the following address:
ATTN: Media Department
12034 Miramar Pkwy
Miramar, FL 33025
Please make sure to include your name, previous ID #, a phone number to contact you with the status of the JP5 and a mailing address to return the unlocked JP5. Once the JP5 is unlocked, you can then connect it to a computer to upload your media downloads as well as add new media to the device. Please let us know if you have any questions.

I am trying to unlock a jpay jp4 mini from home. can you assist me or direct me to a site that can show me how to do this

Hello, Sean -

The JPay JP4 players (versions of MP4 players) are designed to work only within the confines of a prison or correctional center.

For the former inmate who is now released who wishes to transfer his or her music or other audio purchased through JPay, I believe there is a method to go about that. A month or so ago a similar question was asked on Fixya.com and I found an answer for the questioner.

However, I am having trouble finding that question and my answer.

Therefore, I suggest you contact JPay directly, talk (via a phone call) to a Customer Service Representative, and ask for the steps to follow to transfer (port) the JP4 audio purchased while incarcerated to a device (MP4 player or other device) which can be used "on the outside."

This is the link to the JPay Contact Us web page where you will find the phone number:

Best wishes.
