Wait for the cuckoos, count them, then set the hands manually to just past the hour. The clocks have one mechanism for time and another of 'actions'. They aren't linked.

Please change the time of your wall clock back 1 hour and check if the other 3 chimes return. There should be knobs on the side of the clock to help you do this. If not on the side, then please check on the back. Since you've already checked the settings and ruled them out as the cause of the issue (as well as the batteries), you might need to perform a factory reset on the clock if the steps I mentioned above fail.
It probably just needs cleaned and adjusted. You can look up clock repair shops on the internet or in your phone book. Since the clock is smaller, it can be taken to the shop cheaper than having someone come to your home.
I am hoping that you oiled it also? One trick I have found is to gently lift the hammers and release, sometimes the hammers will release and strike the chimes/gong. Do this 4-5 times and hopefully it will get it chiming for you again. UsedClockParts.com
Check for loose wires between the clock Movement and the chime box. If those are good (and the batteries have good solid connection-not lose) you probably need to replace the chime control box or the whole movement.

Mechanical clocks, while more in cost, will live a much longer life with proper care than battery clocks. Plus, an actual chime (not noise through a speaker) is much more pleasing to the ears.
If the clock is chiming like this it means that the hour hand is out. GENTLY loosen the hands, place the hour hand on the hour that the clock has chimed then fasten the hands in place. Gently move the minute hand clockwise Only, and check each hour that it strikes right. If the cuckoo has a button at the back use that instead. For more information email me at [email protected]
Suppose the cuckoo is calling three and the time is showing eleven, then to synchronize, simply stop the clock till the time is the same as the bird (three) and restart the clock at that time.
If the error persisys, then pull off the hour hand, and replace it at the synchonized time.
