Kingston datatraveler 8G shows write protection error, contain a virus outorun.inf, cannot save, cannot be formated and cannot delete. Please help.

1. Open Notepad and do not write anything in it. Just go to File > Save as (save it with the name: autorun.inf)

2. Copy the autorun.inf file that you have created in the above step and paste in your "Pen Drives"

3. Remove your pen drive.

After removing the pendrive, re-insert in your PC. Now your anti-virus will not detect any virus in your PC. And Your pendrive is 100% safe to use.

Try it in some other computer. If it still has a problem, take it back to where you bought it, and exercise the warranty to get it replaced.

My flash drive kingston 8 gb is write protected. how can i open my flash drive?

Hi.

Try these steps.

Carefully switch the write protect tab to Write enabled when inserting the flash in the usb "PC".

try using it. This happens mostly when you are inserting the usb, the tab is pushed to Protected mode without noticing.

If that doesnt work, i suggest you buy a new flash from different brand and less GB.

Good Luck

Move data from one computer to another with kingston 8gb data tra

When you plug in the Flash Drive to your old computer, it will show up in My Computer probably as Removable disk or "Kingston Data Travler". You want to open that link up and drag whatever files you need into that folder. After doing so you put the flash drive in your new computer and repeat the process except you drag the files out of the folder and onto your desktop or a folder of your liking.
