Question about Sony Televison & Video
Probable power supply failure

Testimonial: "It was not the power board."
6 blinks is usually associated with failure of the horizontal
deflection amplifier - which shuts down the high voltage system as well.
The repair requires testing to determine the exact parts that have failed. There are, for example, a few hundred parts and a section of the Jungle IC chip involved. So, repairs could require something as simple as replacing some inexpensive passive components OR as complicated as replacing the jungle chip (very expensive).
most of the time it's the horz. transformer and transistor.

A 6 flash error indicates a problem with the backlight. Your set is less than a year old and still in warranty, so you should contact Sony and arrange for a service call to get it repaired.

like the 2000 others there is a fault on the power board and thepossibly even the sustain boards these that causes the relay to go into protection mode.in all cases all 3 boards need ro be changed in accordance with manufactureres recommendsations and then a whole retuning game is started that rewuires special tools and skills
This is not just a simple fuse or board change, it requires knowledge of circuitry to check voltages from a service manual and also resetting of the convergence chips by generating a hatch pattern on screen to realign all the guns. Parts about $300, labour depends on who does it. It is not a DIY as many on here who have tried have found out the hard way. Quick fix is a quick kill and you start all over again, shelling out for the same parts and making the same mistakes. Unlike PC's , these units do not suffer board change jockeys well.
