My Whirlpool Washing Machine WFW72HEDW0 makes noise as it's sucking water out, but doesn't do anything else (not spinning). Control panel doesn't work. What should I do.

This machine can get items stuck in the drum, the bearings can go bad etc. https://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Washing-Machine/38-5-620929-/Whirlpool-Washer-won-t-spin-GSQ9669LW0.
If there's no water at all, make these checks:If you have a Maytag® washer, is the fuse (if there is one) in the control panel at the lid-switch bracket blown? Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet valve.
A common problem with noises from washing machines has been the under wire that may come out of small clothes. In the washer they can get stuck in one of the inner basket holes and make a scrapping noise, they can actually make there way into the pump and jam the pump, or make a terrible noise when the pump is running. Grab a flash light and have a peek inside the washer for this. Front load washers seem very common to this happen! If the tiny cloth is showing signs of fraying, may be best not to wash it in the washing machine, replace the cloth.======= It's noisy
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
HI thanks for your question. the part that failed is called the motor coupling. it s located on the motor and the transmission. if you need help to replace come on back. but that's the part you need to change. thanks
Ok can you take the front panel of the washer off easily?
If you can look for the motor pump assembly. Start the washer with no load, turn the water level down to the small and fill with water when it goes into agitation does it make the noise? if not turn timer to spin and see if motor makes the noise.
One other thought, maybe the smell is coming from the dryer?
Let me know. I wont be on line again until Friday Sorry
the motor coupling is probably broken. Especially if it wont wash either. Its probably just filling with water and then making noise but not actually washing. If its doing this than replace the coupling.
