Unit 86722 will not stay on Central Std Time keeps switching to EST

https://manualsbrain.com/en/manuals/776563/download/

DST SETTING (daylight saving time) 1. The ON digit will start flashing on LCD1. Set the DST ON or OFF by pressing the + key. 2. Press the SET key to enter the "Language Setting". Note: The DST default is "ON", meaning that the WWVB will automatically change the time according to Daylight Saving Time in the spring and fall. For areas that do not recognize DST changes (Arizona and parts of Indiana) turn the DST "OFF".

If DST does not remain ON, rry replacing batteries in base with new 1.5V AA alkaline, regardless of the base battery indicator status. Do not use rechargeable batteries in either base or remote.

Use non-rechargeable lithium AA batteries in remote sending unit if outdoor extreme cold.

How can I set the time zone?

The DST is only based on GMT.

When daylight saving time (summer time) begins
The following models employ the Automatic Daylight Saving Time/Summer Time adjustment. The DST indicator in the display appears in the display at the beginning of the daylight saving time (summer time), and disappears at the end of it. Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment is based on GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
• Summer time begins at: 1:00 AM on the final Sunday of March.
• Standard time begins at: 2:00 AM on the final Sunday of October

To cancel the Automatic DST/ Summer Time adjustment and
to set DST display manually
The Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment can be cancelled.
Press and hold DST for more than 3 seconds while the clock is displayed.
A beep sounds, and "Aut t OFF" appears in the display to show that the Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment is cancelled. The display returns to the clock.
Notes
• The change timing of Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment employed by the unit (see above) is subjected to variation by circumstances and the law in each country/region. In such a case, cancel the Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment and
set DST display manually as necessary. The customer who lives in the country/region that has not introduced the daylight saving time (summer time) must cancel Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment before using the set.
• To activate the Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment again, press and hold DST for more than 3 seconds. A beep sounds, and "Aut t On" appears in the display to show that the Automatic DST/
Summer Time adjustment is activated. The display returns to the clock.
• To change the display to the daylight saving time (summer time) manually, see "To change the display to the daylight saving time (summer time) indication."

Tried to change to daylight saving time, but it keeps changing back to standard time.

Hi Joyce,

Your device *might* be pre-programed to adjust for ST to DST changes on another date. In 2006, the ST to DST change took place on the 1st Sunday in April and the DST to ST change took place on the last Sunday in October for the last time.

Congress decided that beginning in 2007, that the ST to DST change would take place on the second Sunday in March and DST / ST change back would take place on the first Sunday in October - and has ever since. So, you'll likely see the mismatched time again in November.

If it worked last year - then there is another issue. Unfortunately, without your brand and model, there's little anyone can do to help you out. If you need more help, reply and be sure to include the brand / model info of the device.

How do I change the time one hour ahead for an RP5430A model clock radio?

Slide the Wake 1/Wake2/Clock switch to the Clock position. Then press the forward button to advance the clock by the needed amount of time. Then slide the switch back to the side with the key icon.

If you set the DST switch to ON, you can move the time zone switch to one time zone further east for a few weeks until the DST change in the program takes effect. Then move the time zone switch back to your current time zone. (Repeat this in the fall to correct for the later change in DST again). The exact length of time between when DST starts and ends versus when the clock will change the program will depend on when the clock was manufactured. Clocks built after July 2006 should have the correct DST programs. Clocks from earlier have a much shorter period of DST (April through Oct).

I hope this helps.

We have 2 DZS400 digital tork timers. unfortumately when DST days were changed we have not been able to use the automated dst transition and must manually change the clocks twice each year. is there a way...

DZS400 product descriptor shows DST, and many other programming options:
1) This might help or not:
You can modify DST start & end times > Press MODE until dSt shows > Press MONTH, DATE, DAY to modify start times, and then press ENTER. (or press DEL and ENTER to delete) > Press MONTH, DAY, DATE to modify end times, and the press ENTER > press MODE to return to AUTO.

2) According to DZS400 product descriptor "The controller has 365 day holiday capabilities with 24 single dates" ... if above solution doesn't work, the 24 single dates might provide enough days to fill in programming gaps in the DST. Your manual should have programming steps.

Need to change the time

You weren't precise if the change was due to Daylight Savings Time or just a general need to change the time so I'm giving you the complete set of instructions for changing the time

Setting the Time
Note: Use 24 hour and 60 minute format when setting the time.
For example: 2:00 pm = 14:00.
1. To make changes to your clock’s time setting, you must first put the clock into Program mode. See
section Accessing Program Mode to Update Calendar, Time and DST for instructions. When the
display flashes P1 dAtE, press the ◄ left button until P2 CL oc appears, then press the ● right
button.
2. Press the ◄ left button to choose 12-hour AM/PM display or 24-hour military time, then press the ●
right button.
3. Press the ◄ left button until the correct hour appears, then press the ● right button.
4. Press the ◄ left button until the correct minutes appear, then press the ● right button.
5. When the display flashes the correct time, press the ● right button.
6. The display flashes P2 CL oc again. To make changes to the DST start date or DST end date, press
the ◄ left button one time until P3 BDLE appears in the display and continue to How to Set the
Begin Date for DST. Otherwise, press the ◄ left button several times until END appears, and select
the ● right button to save your updated settings.
How to Disable DST
To disable Daylight Saving Time, set the DST beginning date equal to the ending date (i.e., DST begin
date = 08-03-09; DST end date = 08-03-09).
See next for details regarding setting the DST begin date and end date. Typically, clocks operating in
Arizona, Hawaii and Puerto Rico do not observe DST, and disabling the DST function typically applies to
those areas only.
By default, and unless otherwise modified, DST takes effect on the first Sunday in April and ends on the
last Sunday in October (this was the United States standard through 2006).
How to Set the Begin Date for DST
Note that in 2007 the standard for DST changes to a different start date and end date. The steps below
correct the change in the new start date for DST. The new start date and end date need only be changed
once, since the clock’s rolling calendar function auto-calculates the start date and end date for DST every
year thereafter.
Note that if the begin date for DST has passed, in addition to modifying the begin date (and end date),
you will also need to modify the time.
1. When the display flashes P1 dAtE (see earlier section Accessing Program Mode to Update
Calendar, Time and DST for instruction), press the ◄ left button until P3 bdLt appears, then press
the ● right button.
2. Press the ◄ left button until the correct year appears, then press the ● right button.
3. Press the ◄ left button until the correct month appears, then press the ● right button.
4. Press the ◄ left button until the correct date appears, then press the ● right button.
5. When the display flashes the correct year, month and date, press the ● right button.
6. When the display flashes P3 bdLt, press the ◄ left button once to select next menu option, P4
EdLt, which provides a way to set the end date of the Daylight Saving period.

How to Set the End Date for DST
Note that in 2007 the standard for DST changes to a different start date and end date. The steps below
correct the change in the new end date for DST. The new start date and end date need only be changed
once, since the clock’s rolling calendar function auto-calculates the start date and end date for DST every
year thereafter.
1. When the display flashes P4 EdLt (see conclusion of previous section How to Set the Begin Date
for DST for instruction), press the ● right button.
6. The display flashes P4 EdLt again. Press the ◄ left button several times until END appears, and
select the ● right button to save your updated settings.
Note: To disable the Daylight Saving Setting, set the beginning and ending date to the same date.

I am having the same problem.

According to the Timex web site: We apologize but there is no patch available. Consumers must change clocks manually. Due to newly enacted government regulations, effective this year you must change the time manually, since the calendar was programmed to change according to the time DST issued by the government, it will not recognize the change after 2007. Now the time must be changed 4 times. Press & hold the time set button until the time flash, then release it and press the ff >> or << rev buttons.

Daylight savings time again

Appparently the problem could be with your location, or just that there may be a delay before time correction until the old date - check again the link to amazon i posted before - there are a couple of new reviews that discusss the daylight saving issue, also - The US clock says; "I have a radio controlled clock that receives NIST time. Will the new rules affect me? Your radio controlled clock should automatically implement the new DST rules. The WWVB broadcast contains information that tells your clock whether DST or ST is currently in effect. NIST always sends this information to agree with the current DST rules, so your clock should change automatically on the day of the change, just as it has in previous years. If the time is wrong after the DST change, make sure that your clock has recently received the time signal. Many radio controlled clocks have a synchronization indicator that will tell you if your clock has recently synchronized. If the clock isn't receiving the signal, click here for some tips on improving reception. If it has received the signal recently, check to make sure that the clock's time zone setting is set properly. Also, if you live in an area where DST is not observed (Arizona, for example), you need to disable the automatic DST function on your clock. I have a non-radio controlled clock that used to automatically correct itself for DST. Will it still work? The only way to find out is to wait and see, or to contact the manufacturer of the clock. There are a large number of non-radio controlled clocks, marketed under names like "AUTOSET" or "SMARTSET" that have internal firmware that automatically changes the time by one hour on the transition days to and from DST. These clocks do not connect to a NIST time service, and some of them will no longer work properly due to the DST rule change. For example, clocks manufactured prior to the rule change will probably not switch to DST in March, but will wait until April in accordance with the old rule. If you have a clock like this that fails due to the new rules, your only recourse is to adjust the clock manually, or to contact the manufacturer and ask for an upgrade or a replacement. If you need to contact manufacturer check http://www.emersonscott.com/ezsetamclocr.html Hope this helps:)
