You or the person before you has locked the unit. You may have to reset the unit. The reset button is located to the right of the eject button. You will need to use a needle or pen.
i am having the same problem.... the only button working is the eject button, theres no sound and no screen display although the facia lights are on.. help!!!
Try holding the menu and left arrow button at the same time you hit the (little) reset button. As the system reboots hit the eject button a few times. You may need to do this cycle more than once.
I had the same problem when purchasing mine open box from CircuitCity. But this is how you do it. Pass it on.
While the unit is turned on, press and hold "MENU" and "Back (Track Left)" buttons simultaneously. Next, push and release reset button. Continue to hold "MENU" and "Back (track left)" until the unit reboots.
If your pioneer AVIC car navigation unit does not register your touches or the wrong button is “pressed”, you need to re-calibrate your screen’s digitizer.
1-Hold the Eject button down until the face of the unit drops all the way 2-Using a pen hold down the reset button (just above the joystick) and the navigation disc eject simultaneously. 3-Release the reset button. 4-Release the dvd eject button next. The display will read “press reset” 5-Push the joystick up two times. 6-Push the joystick down twice. 7-Press the joystick in. 8-The service menu will appear after a short pause. You can navigate the service menu using the joystick. 9-Chose the first menu option and press in on the joystick. 10-Trace the screen with a stylus. 11-"P.ADJ" is the back button 12-Chose the second menu item in order to calibrate the touch screen. Use a stylus again and tap the "+" sign on the screen. (You may have to touch slightly off center if the digitizer is damaged. In which case things will still be off but it will be much better.)
the changer is either incompatible or the changer wire has been intrnaly dammaged to much bending shorts them out as the wires are no more than alluminum foil enclosed in shrink wrap
GPS has global coverage.
I see your problem is sourcing the map of Australia because the x1 comes only with Europe maps on CD.
there may be a possibility the S2 maps work on the x1.
