Testimonial: "You may very well be right. Two blue light flashes at 5 sec interval looks rather intentional. Now, what does it mean?"
Okay, I read all of your manual end to end. A bit of guesswork required. The manual states the difference between 'Green Lights and Blue Lights'.
Blue Light
When the BLUE LIGHT illuminates on the floor
this indicates that the wash cycle is operating.
Your Model has Air Dry and Heat Dry. My GUESS is that you are in Heat Dry Mode and the lights are indicating that.

Status Indicator Lights
The CLEAN light will remain on after the door is
opened. When the SANITIZE option is selected and the criteria is met, the Sanitized indicator will display and remain on after the door is opened. If the sanitization criteria is not achieved, the indicator will not display. This can happen if the cycle is interrupted or if the sanitization temperature could not be reached due to incoming water temperature significantly below 120'F.
Green Light
When the GREEN LIGHT illuminates on the floor
this indicates that the wash cycle is complete.
Blue Light
When the BLUE LIGHT illuminates on the floor
this indicates that the wash cycle is operating.

Processor board sound bad. May be a loose plug ( or corroded connection on the plug ) . Unplug the dish washer from the wall plug before servicing. The open the front panel to expose the panel control board. Unplug the panel plugs and inspect them to assure no corrotion is apparent. If you see corrotion, use a pencil erracer to clean all contact points on the board and clean the plug the best possible. Plug the dishwasher plug back in the wall and check the unit for proper operation. If the operation is not correct, replace the circuit board. I hope this helps

the first thing that your dishwasher does when you turn it on is drain when you turn it on you hear a motor running then it stops then it fills start the washer when it stops to start filling open the door should be no water in the unit if there is you have a drain problem and in fact are washing your dishes in dirty water can be several things that can cause drain problems a piece of food blocking the line at the sink where the drain goes in if its run to a disposer there is a knockout plug that should be removed just stick your finger in there to see if it was removed get you installation instructions and read the part about not removing the drain loop but just about all the time installers will lol if you cant find the instructions go to www.frigidaire.com under customer support can down load them there let me know what you find

You need the control panel to reset before anything else can happen. To do this TURN OFF THE PLUG SOCKET FIRST AND UNPLUG. Then you need to drain ALL the water from the machine. Turn off the water supply feed and place the wastage pipe as low to the floor as poss ( 1-2" off floor). Water will gush out so use a large shallow tray and keep emptying the tray. Tilt the dishwasher over slightly to make sure all the water is out.
This will allow the control panel to reset itself which wouldn't normally happen if the base of the dishwasher was holding even a small amount of water.
Re connect the water, plug back in , select the RESET setting on the dial and close the door and switch on.
Leave for about 20 seconds and then turn off.
Rotate the selector switch to "A" Intensive wash and switch
I found this on another site and it really did work for me
SOURCE: IDL705 dishwasher showing error code
Indesit IDL700 first two green lights flashing and cycle stops with dirty water left in the machine. CAUSE - blocked or jammed drain pump. SOLUTION - First remove all the filters inside the machine, syphon or sponge up all the water in the sump and check for any obstruction over the fine grill at the very bottom. (we had a pistachio shell covering the hole!). If this doesn't cue it you will need to gain access to the pump. First, turn off the power. Gently lift the machine onto it's side (be ready for some water to spill out!). Remove the bottom plate (6 screws) and disconnect the sump float switch. Remove the single screw retaining the pump to the bottom of the machine and rotate to remove. You should be able to see the rotor blades. With your finger check to see if the pump rotates freely. To dismantle the pump, remove the 3 screws and separate the two halves. Our pump was jammed with an apple stalk!. Reassemble and connect any cables. Apparently this is a known problem with these machines and can be prevented by assembling the filter system correctly and pre-rinsing plates etc. before placing in the dishwasher.
If you select the Normal Cycle, twice during the cycleyou will hear the wash motor going on and off at amuch different cadence. The pump will pulse severaltimes, repeatedly turning on for less than a secondand off for 10 seconds. This allows it to drive soils off the filter and into the drain while using very littlewater. If, after selecting the Normal Cycle, you select either the Sanitize or Hi-Temp Wash options your dishwasher will understand that a stronger wash is needed and it will not use this pulsing routine
Hello - From what you are describing it appears that the unit is attempting to run the cycle, but the wash motor is not coming on. Either the wash motor has failed or there isn't any or isn't enough power supplied to the wash motor. I personally recommend contacting a service provider to accurately diagnosis the dishwasher and to assist with the repairs.

Hi Diederik , I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? model number?

Figured it out. The blue light flashes are to draw attention to an error code. I missed the code at first but it was for a clogged filter. After cleaning, no more blue flashes and no more error code. Manual should explain blue flashes.
