Dammed washing machines!! Hope someone out there can help, we have a hotpoint ultima wmd960 which trips out the rcd as soon as its switched on, got call off mrs while at work stressed that the kids school uniforms are in , I've changed fuse in plug and on the wall no joy , I thought if we were quick enough we could get the door open not a chance, any good advice is appreciated.

Hi.
I strongly advise you not to attempt this repair yourself, as it is quite involved, and unless you know what you are doing you could easily danage delicate electronic components if you are not careful.
It involves removal of the control panel , the front panel of washer, the door lock assy, and disconnection of electrical parts.
In your own interest, get some one in.
