Question about Samsung Televison & Video

UN65KS850DFXZA Power Board, Connector CNM 803 Pin# 10 (FIAL) - What should be the voltage output at this pin? I am getting only 0.9, Is it good? Please post voltage at each pin of output connectors.

It is a possible lightening issue and TV is not turning On. Power supply output all other voltage 12.5, 5, and 3.5 volts for each output pin of all connectors. Only this pin FIAL output 0.9 volts that looks wrong to me. Expert please guide.

I used a computer power cable (the one that plugs into your IDE HDD) and soldered the male end onto the circuit board. Sorted :)

Many USB power supplies will have the right plug. I picked one up by buying a cheap USB hub, What you want to look for (most likely on the bottom of the power supply) is VOLTAGE Output: 5.0 VDC, POWER Output: 1.0 amp or (1000ma) and the center hole is the positive side. I have even seen some BluTooth earpiece charges that supply what you need.

Samsung LED TV Model # UN39FH5000F Has audio but no video. No backlight is visible. Can't see "menu" with flashlight.

Its likely the panel itself or the digitizer is going out if voltage is flowing properly. If voltages are off then as I'm sure you know its the motherboard. Good Luck Friend!

Hi Anonymous,
In most of the cases the power supply in lcd TVs can handle both 110 and 220 volts. Still if you want to replace it, please check the output voltages of the new supply you want to put. If they are the same you can replace it without any doubt. In case the order of the pins in the connector is not the same, you can cut it away and solder the wires on respective pins. In case you do not get the supply of the same brand, you can use a supply of some other brand with same voltage output.

Vizio logo does not light up amber when plugged in but turns white when power button is pressed. no picture or sound. Big Transformer on power board makes a light buz sound when plugged in also.

1. When the TV powered up, please measure the 24V, 12V & 5V are there, if one voltage is missing, you may have a defective power supply.

2. If the power supply lost the 24V source, you may unplug the power supply connector on both the inverter board, then power it up, if you got the 24V back, you do have a defective inverter board, you may unplug them one at a time to locate the bad one.

3. If the power supply & inverters are good, you may have a defective main board. The common problem on the main board is that a voltage regulator is bad, you may use your millimeter to measure them 1 x 1. The out put voltage (on the heat sync) should be 1.25V + the control voltage (Pin 1), for example: if the control pin voltage is 0, the output voltage should be 1.25V, if the control voltage is 2.05V, the output voltage should be 3.3V, if one of them is out of range, replace it, you may find the part from Digikey Co. The part number printed on the regulator is AMC1117.

How to troubleshoot a MAF sensor:
The following steps should be taken into account during MAF sensor troubleshooting:
• Check the connector for a correct fit and good contact.
• Check the MAF sensor for damage.
• Check the measuring elements for damage.
• Check the voltage supply with the ignition switched on (circuit diagram for pin assignment is necessary). Ref. value: 7.5-14V
• Check the output voltage with the engine running (circuit diagram for pin assignment is necessary). Ref. value: 0-5V
• Check the connection cables between the removed control unit connector and sensor connector for transmission (circuit diagram for pin assignment necessary). Ref. value: approx. 0 ohm.
• Conduct an electronic test of the MAF sensor by the engine management control unit. If a fault occurs, a fault code is stored in the control unit and can be obtained using a diagnostics unit.

The fuel pump relay has four pins. Two pins relate to low power switch circuit from the ECU and the other pins relate to the high current switched circuit which has a permanent power in and switched power out (to fuel pump). Check that the ground on the lower switch circuit pins is good and then check that when the ignition key is in the 'on' position that the low power switch pin has 12.6ish volts supplied to it. If there is no low power switching supply then the relay cannot function. If there is low power supply but no voltage switch on the output then the issue sounds like the relay itself. Pull the relay out and check that it clicks when 12v is dropped across the low circuit pins. Check the resistance across the high current output circuit pins when the low pins are given 12 volts. As 12 volts is applied across the low voltage pins the resistance across the high current output pins should drop to near zero as the internal contacts are closed. As the low side voltage is removed the high side pin resistance should once again register open circuit (infinite resistance). If the relay clicks but fails to output then either replace the relay or open it up and get a nail file and draw it between the contact pins to remove any corrosion.
