Question about Samsung Televison & Video

65" Samsung tv mu658000f Continuously rebooting. When I unplugged the main board and power board, it stayed on. I assumed the power board is good. I figured it was the main board and replaced it.

You need to do some more diagnosing of the problem. If you get sound and change channels take a bright flashlight and place it again the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight.
If you see an image that means the LCD controller board (TCON) is probably good.

The problem is probably one of three causes;
1) Inverter board is bad
2) CCFT (cold cathode fluorescent light) are bad.
3) Power to the inverter board is bad. You can also check the connectors.

Howdy,
It would be a lot cheaper if you just replace the two caps that have gone bad. Just get a cheap solder pencil from the store and about an inch of solder and you are in business.
The Power Supply Board is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.

First off 3.2 is the correct voltage for the PSON so we know the main board is sending the signal back to the power supply instructing it to come out of sleep mode and go to work, if your other power supply voltages are ok then you can rule out the power board. A gut feeling is you have a bad main board but its only a guess without doing some testing on the TV...you said you don't have sound, is that because you can't tell what input the set is on?...also have you tried the flashlight test?

I have a 55 Panasonic LED LCD- MODEL NO. TC-55AS680U - TV Turns on for 5 min., then shuts off and the red stand by light blinks continuously.

No guarantees, but first unplug the unit (when it is on), wait 15 or so minutes, plug it back in and see if this recycling move will fix it. Also, check to make sure you haven't inadvertently set some kind of timer. Good luck . . .

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. Samsung TV goes Black but keeps sound

you will need to check weather the 24vdc supply for the inverter board is good no drop voltage. if no supply check the power supply board. then you should check if their is a inv_on signal at the power inverter board around 3v-4.4vdc . if goes out during power on tried to disconnect the supply going to the inverter board to ensure if their is a shorted parts in the inverter board. if the inverter_on signal also goes out even with out inverter board connected that was mean you have problem in the processor board.
