Hi, seems like link to my yt video demonstrating beeps of my toshiba has been removed..? Here it is again.https://youtu.be/TbYlZfxCKY8

Besides beeping my laptop functions normally, except that i have this pci memory yellow triangle in device manager, check this screenshot https://gyazo.com/beb7604f7386018acb5d12...

@Larry Nope, laptop works perfectly, never bugs even when it's old, I find this older laptop to be better than some entry level laptop from Lenovo which is around 250-300 euros. It still works flawlessly after 14 years :) Also the white uniformity is better compared to my gaming monitor acer predator xb271hu. lol

I got windows 10 installed, it never freezes, reboots, crashes etc. works very stable but laptop just beeps at start up, it's been like this for ages now, even when I had windows 7 installed, and i got phoenix bios too. I don't want to bring this laptop to repair service i'd like to find out the cause of beeping by myself, beep codes are not really clear from phoenix, i am aware that this laptop is very old, but still kicking since i've installed an SSD drive in it, works pretty quickly, and got Intel T9300 inside from Intel T7100, 700mhz upgrade...

Beeping is still present! I just said that i've disabled the beeping in BIOS but it still beeps regardless. :/ i have swapped gpu last year ati radeon hd 2600.

@Anonymous I also think that that beeping code bugged, and that it reports it wrongly, it forgot to switch off and it stayed like this. Because my laptop functions perfectly.

  • Anonymous Mar 04, 2021

or it's Toshiba trash, what more do you expect from them, never buy TOSHIBA.

  • Goran Pavlovi
    Goran Pavlovi Mar 07, 2021

TOSHIBA's not trash man! It's still working regardless of beeping! everything functions, can you imagine that keys on this keyboard are still visible like the day 1, older laptops used to be much better, and today everything's integrated on the motherboard which sux!

Are you all using a google translate? I can barely understand you all! Jeez.

  • Anonymous Mar 12, 2021

are you daft, can't understand simple facts?
the BIOS does not like your GPU card.
    you can,
    1: ignore that beep
2: upgrade BIOS ,oops zero support by them.
3: destroy the beeper.( or pack it in clay)
4: find GPU card it likes.
    5: upgrade newer PC,
6: hack the BIOS, sorry no links, I do not hack.(you learn to google that?)
7: This PC is old the RTC coin cell is bad that old and it may beep just for that alone.
8: Take PC to a real shop get it fixed.
    9: wear ear plugs. ?

PCs with no support are trash.
    learn it. live it.

ill probably get a new laptop, dell, hp or acer not sure

  • Anonymous Apr 02, 2021

    https://pcdied.com/passwords.html#Tohsib...

the PC has custom RTC coin cell battery.
and is dead. and must not be.
the PC BIOS is relic, and hard to make happy.
the RTC when bad or dead, makes BIOS and post lie to you, this is how all BIOS works, if that coin cell fails never believe POST codes unless the code is CMOS CHECKsum error or CRC errors. from NVRAM.
those mean the battery is bad, as all are now.learn that. it is not magic or new facts
    it is just simple facts.

dell is WIN ! has build in ePSA diagnosics in firmware, buy dell and get real manauls, and real onboard diagnostics.
win. get a E6540 used, a real nice PC.

in all cases of all PCs made , the batteries must not be bad, dead or shorted.
and are all short lived devices.
and is a fix this first event.

  • Anonymous Apr 02, 2021

    https://pcdied.com/BIOS/e6540/boot-order...

    1,2,3 see bios show 3 SSD? it's a fact.

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2021

some this old ( just 1 beep) means Im ok
and can be turned off in BIOS for sure the OK beep sound, legacy PCs are stinky and this maker is top of list on stink grade.
use a200 for door stop. or small boat anchor.

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2021

you said beeps , is that 2 beeps ,3 or 6 or what?

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2021

all legacy PC love to beep (not new PCs)
    they all had beep codes
all are covered in the manual if read it.
some even beep for wrong GPU installed.
the older the PC, it has only a few BEEP codes for all POST errors, and are horrible to diagnose, (
on newer PCs we see see, 20 + blinkcodes
then on dells text codes vast and in the Dell BIOS logs (yeah there)
old PCs will have like 10 things to make one kind of beep code. never fun that.
time to get new PC that is far better than anything Toshiba makes or made..

This can be a setting in BIOS, if it was updated or turned on it is normal. Are there any other signs of trouble?

Testimonial: "i have reset my BIOS settings, but beeping is also present, what i've done is the following: clean laptop from dust, upgraded RAM memory from 2gb to 4gb, changed cpu, changed gpu, added SSD. i think that's all."

this lame PC has good beep and bad.
the good beep or im happy beep can be turned off in BIOS
    but NOT the Bad beeps,
that is what they did 14+ years ago.
    2007 PC.
PCs do not beep now, that era ended long ago.
My best guess is the PC does not like that GPU card replaced.
Pheonix, BIOS does list code 1,2 as display chip failure. Dah, dit,dit is "D" in morse code for Display back in the dark ages of BIOS. I call wrong card.
    I do.
or wrong BIOS version, same deal that.
YBMV , your beep may vary.
    RIP Toshiba.

MY Dell has 3 SSD like this
my M.2 SSD in the M.2 slot
the HDD slot with SSD SATA in that slot
the DVD removed and SSD caddy in place of DVD.

no hdd at all, and tons of space, endless. for me.

    seen herehttps://pcdied.com/BIOS/e6540/HTML/image...

only 4 screws out to see all that.
DELL IS Great and solid alum frame too.

SOURCE: how to remove bios password for Toshiba Satellite A200

If you know the current password, use it to enter BIOS SETUP.
Then, type a "blank" ("space-bar") as the "new" password.

If you don't know the current password, you're stuck;
this is a "security" feature to prevent a stolen laptop from being used by the thief.

You should check if in the device manager the sound card shows up. Also, check the BIOS to see if it is not disabled.

SOURCE: Ethernet controller not found

Hi,
Check Toshiba website for chipset drivers as you will probably find that the ethernet controller software is embedded in the chipset driver file.
Install the chipset driver and then check your ethernet card once more.
Let me know if this solves your problem or not.
