SOURCE: Weak lighting on Radio/Clock Console
call your dealer to confirm. i believe there is a problem with the whole console. i had dim lights on the heat / air section, they fixed under warranty, major teardown not just a bulb. now i have a jammed cd changer and dim lights like you. out of warranty, no help $1200 =++++ fix. it seems like a power supply and chronic problem but call first.
SOURCE: need operating instructions for RCA clock radio Mod. 5430
The instruction manual will not help you, because it doesn't address this problem head on. You're having this problem because the time changed, and the clock has an automatic setting. As long as the batteries are in the clock and it's plugged up, it automatically computes the time. I just discovered the solution. Unplug the clock, take out the batteries and WAIT about an hour. Plug it back up, and the time will flash, allowing you to change the time. You do this with the button on the top back which says wake up 1 and wake up 2. Push that button all the way to the right to the setting that looks like a little clock, then press the forward button on the top of the clock to set the correct time. Then put your batteries in and you're good to go! (til the time changes again:) Good luck!
