A micro SD card is the correct memory card for the 14xx series. A 2 GB should be just fine. Some units can not handle a large memory SD card. This has nothing to do with the physical size however.
Are you sure it isn't a micro SD card that is inserted into a standard SD card adapter? A standard SD card is much larger and will not fit into the 14xx series. Look at the end of the SD card that does not have the gold pins and see if there is a ridge where the micro SD card may be inserted into the larger standard SD adapter. Using a fingernail, you can slide the micro SD card out from the SD card adapter. Also, the micro SD card will only insert one way. Try flipping it over and inserting it again, always with the gold pins facing the Nuvi.
The SD memory card slot is spring loaded, to insert the memory card insert the card into the SD memory slot with the SD card contacts going in first and gently push it in until it locks in place. NOTE if the SD card does not slide into the slot easily then the SD memory card has been inserted back to front, turn the SD card around and insert it again. To remove an installed SD memory card, press the SD memory card and it will pop out slightly then you can then pull out the SD memory card.
well i had the same problem so i took it to tmobile and the guy on the register inserted a new SD card and he said that my old SD card was ful. so i ask him how can i clear it out and he showed me this lil usb SD card reader that they sell at the store and it was 9.99. but other then that basiclly it means that your SD card us full and you just hook it up to the usb SD card reader and plug it to any computer and go back and clean your files and re-use it again. thats about it. hope that help! : )
