Check the DC filter caps in the power supply first. Check the 24vdc (or 18vdc for this 22" model) to see if it goes away when the screen goes black.
There are main AC fuse, backlight inverter fuses, T-CON fuses.

Do you have backlight? If you do, you have a bad main logic board. Very common with vizio and are hard to find. They are usually out of stock everywhere.

Samsung Smart TV has a very dim picture. Is a LED driver board the proper fix?

Depends on the model. Have you checked the backlight, (LED in this set perhaps).

I have a Blank screen on Vizio TV?

Hi Ed...You need to find if the backlights are staying lit or if they're shutting down completely. I have a feeling you have bad backlights but it could be other things as well. Take the back off and you should be able to see if they shut down, on this model it's normal for them to dim if no image on the screen but they shouldn't go out. I've had issues also with the backlight control circuitry on the power supply, this is an edge lit set and the lamps on this type of set are more troublesome than sets with strip

Vizio D65u-d2 Backlight not working after replacing 2 LED strips?

You should be able to replace just the bad LED strips however with as much work as it is to get the set apart and back together I always replace all them as other strips generally fail in time. Did they all light up after you replaced the bad ones before you put it back together? This model set has local dimming so servicing it is a bit more complex, you could have a bad backlight driver but that board seldom gives issues, also you could have main or power board issues as power for the backlight driver comes from the power board or you could have main issues as it's the signal from there that turns on each strip.

Vizio E500i-b1 went dark, any ideas on what to check next?

You can change boards in your TV all day and it's most likely no going to fix this set. Have you ever had a set of miniature Christmas lights that seemed to work great then all a sudden none would light, either because a bulb burned out or fell out? There are 2 types of electrical circuit wirings, one is series the other parallel. In series like your LED backlights are wired in your TV there are about 8 button lamps per circuit that have a 24 volt DC supply serving each set as this TV has what's called local dimming, one of the lamps has opened up making that set not light up, the power supply has over voltage and over current protection for each supply if one lamp opens up they all go out and this is exactly what's happened in your TV, the power supply safety circuit is non discretional, if it detects an error it shuts down the entire backlight circuit giving you no backlights. As far as a break down on what fails 5% of the times it's the main board 5% its the power board and the other 90% of no backlight failures on this model TV comes from the backlights being bad. You can change just the one bad strip if you wish but it's advised to change them all. Good luck!

I have a vizio e65-e1. It is unbearably dim. Sound works. Backlight is on. Picture is there. Just so dark you have to be 1 inch away to see it. Went through settings and set backlight to 100 but didnt...

There are strips of led's that control the brightness of your picture. Check the driver board and also check to see if all led's are lit. Go to for parts and how to.

VX37L Screen Suddenly Went Blank, Now No Image, Sound Only on Cable Input, VIZIO Logo Lights Up

turn on the set, grab a bright flash light and dim the lights in the room. Shine the flash light on the screen, if you see a faint picture on the screen, you are dealing with a backlight problem. There are several things that can cause this. One, a bad backlight inverter, two, faulty 24vdc power supply, three, bad main board, or a bad faulty backlamp.
