SOURCE: External Sound Card

No, that's not going to work. Digital output is just that....Digital. Your trying to send a digital into analog....won't work. Your tv don't have red and white audio out. That's what you hook to, but it still wouldn't be 5.1. Your out of luck my friend. The ONLY way you'll get 5.1 out of that T.V. is to get a 5.1 reciever with CO-AX digital input...the SAME as whats on your T.V. You can only hook-up sound to your X-FI with the line in jack using a y-connector and 1/8" stereo plug....and it won't ever be 5.1. It can't that way. Only way to get 5.1 to work on the blaster is with the tosh-link optical input cable. This too is digital, but uses optics to send it. Remember, you are playing with 2 different formats. Analog with your white/red thing you made and then digital. Digital using co-ax or optical tosh-link. Completely different.....as you now know.

SOURCE: Hitachi L26H01U headphone socket doesnt work

User problem!! The main TV volume and the headphone volume work independently so you can have the TV volume set at zero and use the headphone volume. However I suggest getting a pair of headphones with it's own volume control.

SOURCE: UMC 19in TV with built-in DVD player - model L19/7TCD

Try connecting earphones or headphones to the 3.5mm Headphone socket on the TV and check this works correctly, i.e hear TV when watching TV, hear DVD when watching a DVD etc.
If all is OK, purchase a 3.5mm Jack to L/R Audio/Phono cable. Connect the 3.5mm jack in to the headphone socket on the TV and connect the red/white phone ends to the 5.1 surround system.
It should solve it. SCART out is not always live in all sources so is not a reliable way to connect.

SOURCE: Sony Vaio PCG-K45. My speakers are not working

May be yor codec (decoding system) is missed. Try different player, also if using Klitecodecks reset settings. Find sound program and turn off 5.1 or 7.1 sound and choose 2 speakers.

We have a Tevion 45967, we want to just play records on it. Do we need to plug it into external speakers

Not directly.
You can:
play it via AUDACITY on your computer, or
amplify it from the line-out RCA sockets*, via your sound-card line in or a separate hi-fi amplifier with equalizer, or
use a headphone-splitter cable and amplify from that to powered speakers.
*The downside of RCA sockets is that your player's internal speakers still work.
Anything plugged into the headphone socket cuts out internal speaker. The headphone splitter allows monitoring via a headphone aaas well.

I was playing a cd, then suddenly the speakers made a crackling sound and no more music. I have tries the turn-table, cassette player, and tuner...no sound. what could be the problem?

Is there any sound via the headphones? If it is normal but not on the speakers you have a faulty headphone socket.
If you turn it up to full volume can you hear anything? If you can then the main amp has failed.

Sony lbt d305

There are only two answers to this. One is the microphone plug damaged the headphone socket. Easy and cheap to fix. Two that the plug shorted out the main power amp. Sadly though easy to fix it won't be cheap as that is what does all the work.

I have a CD Stereo system SA-AK17, 120V, 145W, without speaker. I provided 2 speaker with the brand of Technics, input 200W(.music), 100W(DIN) each speaker. I bought Audio wire and connect speakers...

Some stereo system have the ability to switch off the speakers when playing via headphones. In others the headphone socket itself does the switching. However headphone sockets can become faulty and when the headphone plug is removed it doesn't restore sound to the speakers. It's very easy to fix this, with a check that the contacts are not bent out of place. Or you can rewire a new headphone socket, making a note of the wire connections before you replace it.
Sometimes it is quite difficult to get the speaker cable to make a good contact with the speaker sockets. You should check that they are making contact.
To test any loudspeaker just connect a 1.5 battery for a short time across the disconnected speaker. If working the speaker will pop!
As the sound is going to the headphones the amp seems to be OK and one of the above options should correct the problem.
