    Hi Skinnyh
what PC is this, we can not guess PCs yet
we need deity upgrades for that.

my guess (wild) is the is some lame
HP PC, that has that useless mini keyboard,
there. making gaming keys WASD useless.
this is normal for that lame keyboard
the only cure is buy real keyboard,
even walmart sells them. generic USB keyboads
buy it and do not use mini
here is the lame board here.

SOME DELLS PC HAVE THIS , ODD DUCK KBD.

next time tell what PC you have. we can not guess. it.

for sure gaming as you are doing
WASD is gaming keys, we know that.
    left right forward back.
no gaming pad or joy sticks.

skinny did this guess what PC you have>?
    gaming.
if yes, what do you think? about that.
    the above keyboard is CRAPPPPPPP
never ever buy any dell mini with keyboard from H3LL, just go to walmart grab real keyboard and win. win the game too.
or by K70 like mine.(CHEERY SW, PRIME)
NOT WITH STANDING, THERE MAY BE KEYBOARD DRIVER HACK THAT CAN FIX THIS. IDK THAT.
    never heard it.

as you can see that lame kbd is missing the F1 to F12 row of keys.ahhhhh CRAPPPPPPPPPP
    says crusty the clown.

SOURCE: keyboard trouble

you need to reload that software that came with the keyboard. Uninstall the keyboard from device manager :- Control Panel>system>device manager. Then reload the software for the keyboard, which should also have the drivers. If you do not have the software, let me know the make and model of the keyboard and I will see what I can do.

Hope this helps

Where is num lock key on Dell 5030

If there is no NumLock key then pressing the Fn (Function) buttonshould enable the number pad on the keys that have the Blue numbers onthem. On most laptops (dont know your model) there is a numlock key asthis allows the user to type numbers with two hands and not keep oneholding the Fn button. You would normally press the Fn button and theNumLock option to switch it on and every time you pressed the keys withthe numbers on it would use the number not the letter, pressing the Fnkey with NumLock on would normally allow the letter to be used withouthaveing to disable the NumLock.
This assumes of course that the normal letters are stamped with thenumbers on, if not it is most unusual, I don't think I hav eseen alaptop keyboard without numbers or the NumLock / Fn options. There areUSB number pads available that you can buy, these simply plug in to anavailable USB port and it is like an extension of your keyboard.

The keyboard is locked. Instead of letters, it gives me numbers

Click Fn+Numlk as this switches your keyboard to the numbers printed in blue. Pressing that combination again, puts the keyboard back to normal. The Fn key will switch the function keys to the designated lower operation, so your F11 key has the NumLk operation controlled by the Fn key

My function is stuck on, i cannot type on my keyboard unless i hold the function key down the whole time i am typing. is there such a fn key release function.

Normally, if you hold down the "Fn" key, you'll get whatever character or function is printed in blue on those keys. So holding down the "Fn" key, you now have a numeric keypad in the middle of your keyboard. Release "Fn" and things are back to normal.
Which is exactly the opposite of what the question is asking. The person asking needed to press the "Fn" keys to get the normal, white, characters for each key.
The "problem" is simply that there is a persistent toggle. If you press "Num Lk" (I've also seen it labeled "Pad Lk" for numeric Pad) it turns on the blue keys, and inverts the meaning of the "Fn" key - it's a way to use that embedded numeric keypad without having to hold down the "Fn" key the entire time.

numlk.jpg To fix it, just find and press the "Num Lk" or "Pad Lk" key again. (Note, sometimes these keys are themselves "Fn" keys, so you may, or may not, need to also hold down the "Fn" key to get the right function.) Often there is an indicator light associated with the setting.

Can`t figure out keyboard on acer aspire one, blue numbers and letters etc Karl

blue number etc are functions that are connected to the blue fn button in the left hand corner.
press and hold the blue fn button and at the some time one of the other buttons.
eg volume + or - for volume up and down or the moon shape for hibernate, or the sun to change the screen brightness, antenna button to switch on and of your bluetoot or wifi, or the screen button to switch on and off your external monitor port on the back etc. the blue number are your numeric keypad like on a normal keyboard this can be used in the same way by holding the blue fn button down at the same time.

I hope this was helpful
