You need to turn off the device completely, wait for a couple of minutes and then turn it back turn. After that you need to try it again

My dell latitude E6410 wont connect to wifi

Why will it not connect? Give us more details if you really want help. What kind of error message are your getting? Do you have the wifi turned on? Check both sides and the front of the laptop for the wireless button and make sure it is on.

Are you connecting to the right network and know the password?

I think there is a sliding button to switch on wifi on my Lenovo 3000 N100 but it doesn't seem to be working.

Hi supriyamahta,

That's right, there's a physical wifi switch for your Lenovo 3000 N100. It's located on the front panel of your machine. It should be toggled on the right side if you wanted to turn it on. If it's not working you might need to turn on it's wifi soft switch. All you have to do is to press the Fn + F5 button. In any case and still you will be encountering the same issue that wifi switch can't be turned on I will ask you to contact Lenovo so they can give you proper recommendation on how the wifi switch can be replaced.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

I recently bought a Sylvania 7 inch netbook sold at CVS.\r\nIt states to activate WI Fi to click on wifi icon on bottom right of screen. If icon is not available to press FN + F9 When I press FN+F9...

Your OS should have an icon on the desk top that says WIFI Power, it is blue in color and this icon turns the WIFI on and off. When the button says off, the WiFi is on, the idea is that it is waiting for you to turn it off. If that is not on your desk top, turn the machine over and look for a small hole 1in diagonally right of the data plate. insert a tooth pick in that hole a depress gently to reset your machine.

It is looking for a password (WiFi Network Key) You have to double click on the little computer icon down in the right tool bar area, the one with the two side radiating arcs, and possibly has a small red X under it. The red X indicates that it is NOT connected. When you double click on that icon a window called RT28701 opens up, then you click on Wireless Information tab, then you cursor down to the name of your WiFi and high light it and click the connect box. Then another window opens up called Network Properties. Uncheck "The key is provided automatically" box. This will allow you to type in your "Network Key", the password that protects your network from outsiders. This "KEY" was set up when you installed the router on your server computer. If this does not work at first, turn the machine over on it's back and using a toothpick, insert it into the little hole about an inch diagonally from the right corner of the data plate, this will re-load a new copy of everything including the WiFi RT28701 driver.
sometimes this driver gets confused. See my TIP at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7350901-fix_synet07526_wifi_flashing

I recently reformatted my acer aspire one d250 but after that the wifi was not working. theres no wireless icon on the taskbar only the wired. how can i activate my wifi?

most likely the driver is missing, go ahead and right click on the my computer icon, properties, device manager and see how many red x's or how many exclamation marks there is if you find any of those, the driver is missing.
go ahead and download drivers from this page, install them and turn on the wireless. there should be a button for it.
select netbook and then your model ->Aspireone->AOD250

How do i turn my wireless connection on my laptop model v5535

You skipped an on. Got wireless settings in control panel? Use 'em. No settings? Load the driver for the WiFi in it (pick a recent vintage from the makers' site, if not C:/DRIVERS.)

I am having difficulty setting up the wifi function on the lexmark X6570 printer that I have purchased recently. I have installed the printer to the Apple Mac using a USB wire and it all seems to work...

Press the white settings button once. Then press the right arrow button 4 times ( next to the red x) The display will say network setup. Press the check mark once. The display will now say network setup. Press the check mark once more and the display will read print setup page. Press the right arrow button one time and the screen will read wireless setup. Press the check mark once more and you will begin the wireless setup configuration for your network.
Good Luck, John

WiFi not recognized on Compaq laptop

this can happen sometimes, just go to network connections in control panel, right click on the wireless icon and click dissable (or press the rellevant button on your notebook) Restart pc and then right click on the icon again and select enable. There should be an icon in your taskbar, right click and select view network connections, and then see if your router is listed and click connect.
