The CT877 remote was included with several Toshiba TVs, including the 26DF56. Thus the programming codes for the remote are in the TV manual on pages 16-17. This manual is available on the support page: https://support.dynabook.com/support/staticContentDetail?contentId=2844172&isFromTOCLink=false . The current link to the manual is https://content.us.dynabook.com/content/support/manuals/userguides/su2844172/xxdf56_om_e.pdf . It does not have any codes to control other TVs.
A universal remote that was programmed six months after your Spectre TV was manufactured would probably be a better solution for you. I hope this helps.

Codes for Sony seem to work for Sceptre. I have Comcast On Demand Remote (with the red ok/select button) - there is more than one kind of remote for comcast). I used code 11100 and it works great for my Sceptre HDTV. Hope this helps!

If you select "source" on your remote then enter 7343 it will bring up a factory menu. Go down to 'Other setting' , the setting 'scaler output' should be set to "Normal". This setting flips the display.

upgrading the firmware is the only possible solution if a factory defaults reset has not fixed the software issue only other thing would to have a diagnostic run by a technician on it

Place one remote on table, place other (new) remote facing old remote, then push the program button on new remote, remotes IR screens has to face each other to make this work. and if you've tried to program the new one before, you will have to clear the new ones memory first. Good luck.
