SOURCE: Picked up the woofer of BA7800 speaker system.

If wired connection using a phone jack. if not, you need a lot of work to do but if you need also only be used woofer, you must reconnect to the controller itself, or you connect the woofer to amplifire then to a computer, that way you can control the audio is out of the woofer.

If you've undone the 8 screws on the back panel... I would suggest the only thing holding it in is..... it's an interference fit... try carefully prising it out.

Adapting Boston Acoustics BA7800 for use with TV

Here's what you need:

Scroll down to the 3.5mm Stereo Jack / RCA Plug x 2 Y-Cable

Converts your TRS connectors to dual RCA plugs. You said you have 3 TRS connectors. Does the TV have 3 sets of RCA plugs you can use with this? If not, you may not be able to get full surround sound, just stereo sound, from your TV - and you'll need some RCA splitters to plug two (or three) cables into one port. I know you can get those at Radio Shack.

Install Boston Acoustic speakers BA7800 to a new Imac?

Partial Solution anyway - I just got a Mac Pro (2.66 Nehalem )and couldn't find the manual from my old Gateway 700XL. This is what I did: Plug the green wire into the analog output, and the pink wire (if you really need an external mic, but you shouldn't since our new computers both have a built-in mic) into the analog input. Just ignore the black wire. You won't have the 2 surround speakers, but I'm still looking for a fix for that. I got tired of the crappy speakers in my new Apple Cinema display (the ONLY crappy thing about my new system). As you know, the sound from the BA7800 is great, even with just the two front speakers and sub-woofer. I'll keep you posted if/when I figure out how to set up the surround speakers! Likewise, if you hear something, please post here and I'll keep checking back.

Need a manual download

I'm amswering my own question here, but I should have looked a little harder before posting here.

The link below to Gateway support provides the info I was looking for. I remember now that I did not receive a manual as such with my Gateway, but was directed to this info.
