Question about Lands Phones
SOURCE: Speaker is turned off??
Your telephone is probably ok but there is some system programming to turn the handsfree feature on. The procedure to do this is as follows: 1. Find the port number of the extension by pressing Feature 4 at the problem phone. The display will show the 2 digit port number and the extension number; remember the port number. 2. Enter program mode by pressing Feature #0*8974 3. Press Line Key 4 4. Dial 29 5. The display will show 01/29:HFU YES/NO ; with 01 being the first extension port number in the system. Press the Conference key until you see the port number we need to change. 6. When you reach the correct port number, make sure the cursor is all the way to the right by pressing the # key until it is there. 7. Press Line Key 2 to change the entry to yes. 8. Press transfer to write the new data. 9. Press Speaker to exit programming mode. If you wish to call me I can step you through this free of charge. My number is 850-326-0394.

SOURCE: random calls put on hold and transfered to other handsets
Your keypad is dirty or worn and the pad is touching these selections. It's time for a new phone unless you can take this one apart and clean the pad.

SOURCE: InterTel Axxess won't pick up the line when handset is raised
Try doing Special (sideways 8) 360 and make sure your display says Auto CO Access On. If it does not then do it again so that it will. Then try doing Special (sideways 8) 361 and make sure your display says Auto IC Access On. If it does not then do it again so that it will.

SOURCE: I have the panasonic handset phone. I have three
A lot depends on what sytsem the 7896 is plugged into. If it happens to be a TA series, you'll go into station programming mode (menu 99) and dial 11. The change this makes is that you will have to dial "9" to get an outside line, or 53x to pick up lines 1,2,3 etc. To get back to idle line preference, dial 12, but a cordless phone should never be set to ILP because you can't call internally or page.
