say why first. there must be reason.
it sure is not for home use,
    not told what needs it,?
    FIOS modem from ISP ?????
or HDD with fiber channel option/ commerical.

Just get sold state drive, SATA 2.5" or M.2 and be happy like most are.

NO PC told no OS told nor what DEVICE you have or want that needs fiber anything at all.
why are you asking this.? "context" matters.

    what needs this
tell what and why first, or answers will be wrong.
no goal stated, no device no PC no server told.
no clues at all what you are talking about.
    wild guess #1
let me guess, you are hunting for cheap HDD and find these dirt cheap FC HDD sold
    and wonder what it is?
    answer dont buy it.
    end story.

fact is the folks that need this never ever have to ask this...

Just bought a Midland 100B Weather Radio. I programmed the channel and SAME Set. I am not receiving any alerts. We are having an alert right now, but it is not displaying the LEDs or the voice/siren is not...

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing FixYa to help solve this concern. You just purchased a Midland WR-100B All-Hazards Weather Radio. You have all the information programmed correctly in it and you are still not receiving any alerts. First of all, log on to this website and check to make sure that the transmitter tower in your area is still working (this means your county does not have a DEGRADED remark in its row).

When you get to the website, select your state and you will see a list of all the counties in your state. Find your county and locate the REMARKS column. If your county has a remark stating "OUT OF SERVICE" or "DEGRADED", it means the tower transmitting broadcasts for your state is not working due to technical problems or recent severe weather conditions. If your county doesn't have one of these remarks beside it, then the reason why you are not receiving any alerts on your radio is because the National Weather Service has special criteria that a storm has to meet in order for them to alert NOAA Weather Radio owners "In the middle of the night or while doing daily activities". To translate that for you, they don't want to disturb anyone by sending alerts for storms that are not "life threatening" or going to cause severe damage. Click on the links below to find out more information about when alerts are broadcast.

NWR always runs Required Weekly Testing every Wednesday starting from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. If you are able to, check the radio then. If you see the amber light shine, then you are receiving a test. is the place to find more information about NWR testing. I hope this will give you a better understanding of when the National Weather Service sends alerts to the viewing area. Thank you for choosing FixYa to as your one-stop solution spot for questions, concerns, problems and requests. Stay safe this Severe Weather Season and have a good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution post.

How and who invented Fibre Optics? I'm a student at High School and tasked with a research on Fibre Optics. Where exactly do I get more information on this (plus photos)?

Who invented it and who got the first patent are two different things.
Google "Fibre Optics" and you will get access to more information than you dreamed of. Make sure you list where you got your information. A lot of it is copywrited and to use it without giving credit could get you into a legal bind.

As I understand it, the SNC is basically a Fibre/SCSI Bridge... and what you are seeing is the FC light being on means that the SNC is connected to the Fibre SAN... but there drives aren't connected to the bridge. Check out for information on how to connect to the SNC and run the discovery process. You'll most likely have to connect via serial connection, and the document I included does a great job of discribing that process. I'd suggest that you request an IP Address from your IT folks beforehand, so that you can configure it on your IP Network whaile you're at it.
