The flame sensor can still be faulty, replacing that is the cheapest. Other issues could be a faulty control board (if available), a faulty gas valve, thermostat lossing call, or a safety/pressure switch problem. There are alot of variables and it really helps to have a meter to check voltage and continuity through-out the system.

York, diamond 90 heating issues! Ruscopeland suggested to check out problem by noting fault code on the system... after it turned off it kept flashing 6 times. what does this mean? any answers?

Look at the electrical schematic on the inside cover to the electrical compartment. It should have a list of fault codes. Locate the condesate drain lines (up to three) and remove them and inspect them for debris/blockage. Clean them and flush them with warm water and clorox solution. Make sure that your condensate line is not blocked and that you are getting drainage from the condensate line. The new high efficiency furnaces generate a great deal of condensate water from the burner and it needs to drain properly.

You could have plugged orfices in the line coming out of the gas valve. Next you could have a plugged gas regulator. The only way your going to find this out is to check gas pressure before the gas valve during a call for heat and then check it after the gas valve during a call for heat you could have a bad gas valve. Try this let me know what you find Thanks and please leave feedback

I have a york diamond 90 diagnostic 1 flash lock

open the top of your unit so that you can see into the burner box
what your looking for should be an orange wire that leeads up to a metal rod
that metal rod should be in the way of the flame when unit is on
this is your flame ground,,, or more commonly known as the flame sensor,,, take this out and goive it a good brush with some steel wool
and reassemble,,
this should clear up you problem

My york diamond 80 can be fired up, but it is shut off automaticaly after approx. 20sec. This can be repeated 3 times. I beleive the fun and borad panel are working fine.

The flame sensor might have dust build up on it. The flame sensor makes sure that the system has ignited before it starts the main blower. If it ignite and burns for 15-20 seconds then goes out that is most likely your problem. Identify a probe that is in the direct path of the flame(usually in the last burner tube from the gas source), it will have one wire coming off of it and usually has one screw holding it in place. As time goes by the sensor will get a build up on it and stop functioning. Turn the power to your furnace off, then remove the screw and then gently pull the flame sensor out. Using a MILD abrasive like panty hose of paper towel (DO NOT USE sand paper) clean the sensor and then put it back into place. Tighten the screw and then turn your furnace back on. That should fix your problem.
