When a commercial ice machine has is not making ice anymore or makes low amounts of ice, check for the following: Water supply is disconnected See if the water supply valve is turned off or supply hose is disconnected. the Water-float valve and screen are dirty Clean the valve and screen to make ensure proper ice production

Make sure the freezer is at least 17 degrees or colder (colder is better). If you have a square cover on the end of the ice maker see if you can pull it off and press on the gear face (don't turn just press). That may clean the electrical contact springs and get it working again. Basically if ya got water, 17 degrees or colder you will get ice. Other than that the ice maker motor module is likely bad (broken gear, etc.). Pretty common.

Tammi, you first want to check to make sure the water inlet tube to the icemaker is not frozen shut. Next, get yourself a jumper wire about 4 inches long with the ends stripped exposing the wire on each end. Pull off the ice maker cover, it will pull right off. Now you are looking at the module. On the module, left side, you will see two test points marked V and L. Insert one end of the jumper wire into V and the other marked L. You are now sending 120 volts to the water valve and water should fill the ice maker providing the inlet tube is not frozen over. If it doesn't fill, you either have a bad water valve or module itself. Also check to see if the clips that hold the center gear on the module are not broken. Catriver..post back.

Hello,
My lady friend has the same problem with her ice maker. The problem is, the ice tray is broken on the end. I took her ice maker out and found out it was broken. Its going to be hard finding a replacement since they don't make parts anymore.

you need to remplace your control board
is not suppling power to the ice maker heater element you will find the control boar nex to the wather valve

My Ice maker doesn't make ice anymore

90% of ice maker problems are water related. Sounds like water may be continually seeping in from the inlet water valve (normal thing to do if the water level is low). This will not allow the water to get down to freezing temperature. You have to identify the reason that water is constantly running in. It's probably "leaking" out at the dump valve. Or does that unit have a float valve that may be leaking. Check your drain to see if water is leaking out during the freeze cycle.

You have two sides to the water control valve so look inside your ice maker and see if after the last ice harvest your ice maker refilled with water. If half full or empty try filling the ice maker with tap water up to the top of the the ice maker. If the ice maker dumps the ice after the water freezes then does not refill with water this will point to the WR57X10051 Dual Water Inlet Valve If the ice maker does nothing once filled with tap water will point to the WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly and will be better to repace. Maytag freezer wont produce ice

You have two sides to the water control valve. One side is for the water coming from fountain and the second side is to refill your ice maker after each cycle of dumping ice into the ice bin. The freezer should be a 5 degrees or below for the ice maker to function properly. If the ice maker is empty then fill with tap water up to top edge of the ice maker and allow to freeze. If after the water freezes and dumps the ice into the ice bin the ice maker does not refill I would recommend replacing part=> 67006009 Dual Water Control Valve
or here=> 67006009 Dual Water Control Valve
If the ice maker has old ice inside and does not want to dump itself it will be considered defective and the ice maker core moduel will need be replaced=> W10190972 Ice Maker Assembly

2 problems one water escaping to the drain freeze cycle short

first, freeze cycle too short because you are loosing water. Water may be leaking thru the dump valve. Look at drain while machine is running and see of alot of water is draining. The dump valve spring may be week or there is trash in the dump valve preventing it from seating properly. drain water first before pulling dump valve apart.

Hi, first , pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If if freezes , and dumps , replace the water valve. If it does not dump the cubes , replace the ice maker. After pouring the water into the ice maker , remove the bottom kick panel , and clean the bottom coils , of dust , lint , pet hair , etc , as this will raise the freezer temp . An ice maker has to be 5 degrees , to operate , correctly . If ice maker starts working , after cleaning the coils , GREAT ! ( it does happen ) .

If it does not dump the cubes , replace the ice maker ( pt. # 4317943 ) . Ice maker is inop. There is water to the door dispenser but not to the ice maker.

It’s more likely that your 61005626 Dual Outlet water control valve has become defective on the side that turns the water on for the ice maker. Sometimes the ice maker is the reason for this problem. The ice maker has a temperature thermostat that sometimes goes bad and will not tell the water control valve to come on after dumping the ice and the end of its cycle. The part number for the temperature thermostat is 627985 you can test the ice maker to see if the thermostat is bad by filling it with tap water and allowing the water to freeze. If after freezing the ice maker cycles and dumps the ice but does not refill with water then the water control valve needs to be replaced. Ice Maker stopped making Water Whirlpool model (ed5phexnq00)

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into ice maker . If it dumps , replace the water valve . If doesn't dump , replace the ice maker . Also make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , etc...
