I am not an expert in such things and I know little about tv but I just wanted to plant an idea - the screen of a modern tv is dark unless there is something to be displayed, either a received signal or something generated by an internal menu.
Presumably there is a relationship between the output from the part of the circuit that receives and processes the signals and the brightness of the screen.
Perhaps that relationship is proportional so a reduced output from the signal part results in reduced brilliance?
Many people replace circuit boards and hope but if you want to find and cure the fault I think you will need a couple of years experience, some test gear and access to a technical library.
Obtaining a service sheet and checking a few voltage would be a start but in reality I think making friends with a local repairer would be favourite, especially where the in-laws are involved...

It sounds like somehow the light in the LCD has shorted out. You probably need the LCD screen. If you need some parts you may want to contact a guy in South Carolina who has lots of used parts for all the Panasonic Cameras at reasonable prices. I bought a used LCD from him and it works like new. I think his email is [email protected]
SOURCE: Top Half of monitor is brighter than the bottom half
I think you have a faulty lamp on the bottom, has the unit been serviced at any time? if so then return it and let them reconnect the one lamp they missed, if not then you might have one bad lamp on the bottom of the lcd these typically have 2 lamps on top and two on the bottom, if that is not the case then you might neeed to tilt the screen a little differently,
est I can do for you based on the image you posted. happy holidays

I'm not sure what I did but I solve the problem.I open up the camera to see if backlight is unplugged, but everything was ok.In mean time I press I think two buttons at the same time PWR LCD button and main shoot button. Now I'm not so sure and I'm afraid to try it again to make it bad again. So you guys who still have a problem try and let me now if there was a problem.Or it have to have something with screws when I was screwing and unscrewing the camera.Sorry for my bad english
