There is a fuse inside the power supply bard of your sylvania TV. Check whether it has blown out. If bllown out, replace it with same type bothe in size and amperage. If the newly inserted fuse also blow up as soon as you switch on the set, make sure that the power supply section has some short circuit in it, and should be cheked well. OK.

The LOT [Line Output Transformer] of your TV. It should be replace with same type and number. Actually this is a skilled work. You have to unsoder this component out from the circuit board, and to resolder the new one in place. Have to adjust the perfect screen and focus voltage. Screen and focus voltage controls can be seen on it. This component can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your tow. The number printed on it is important and should be noted. The sample picture of that component is attached here. This component also known as Flyback transformer. OK.

This can be due to moisture build up or dirt accumulating with a static charge to induce voltage and so change the customer control panel switchings.
You can try with a good cleaning of the board and panels. Make sure to dry if moisture is seen. Also check for static conducion of high voltage to the control panel that can induce the inputs to work erratic.
if not check the processor section- processor damage- and the board for a possible weakness.
